Laughing Cross

There was a girl in my science class, who loved gory things. Me and my old best friend, Molly were talking and we heard a cute song being hummed. Except, the song was a bit demonic, so cute it was demonic, I suppose. We looked over to see a small girl, she looked like she wasn't even supposed to be in Middle School. We asked what she was singing. She creepily responded "Giggle at the Ghostly". I had recognized it. It was a song from the incredibly famous show, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". Molly went off on her, calling her a freak and stuff. I told her to shut up and focus on the assignment. "Oh no," The girl laughed. "I like her talking. It makes me want to laugh. Heheheheh" She started laughing. I ignored this, being around a bunch of weird people all the time. Except, after class, her laughing still went on in my head, like a song. When I got to my next class, I noticed she was in there too.

I took a random seat, and there she was, singing the same song, while doodling in her notebook. I curiously looked over to see what she was drawing, and it made me want to vomit.

It was a picture of a wolf, wearing a party hat, scalping a dead saber tooth tiger, which had a cut smile on her face, had no eyes, and had a lost tusk.

I looked away quickly trying to erase the image from my brain. She started to laugh, adding details to the tiger and wolf. She poked me, and told me all what this was. Apparently, the wolf was named Cross Arrow. She loved smiling and making others happy. And this tiger's name was Shira. Cross loved Shira dearly, but Shira never smiled. Cross was very confused by this, and figured a little fun was what Shira needed. So she decided to throw her a surprise party.

Cross was setting it up, but Shira came in, to see what Cross what up to.

"Shira...this was a suprise for you. You know I hate it when things go unplanned..right? Remember what happened to Fawna?" Cross stepped down from the ladder.

"Cross.....What are you doing?!" Shira stepped away. Cross walked over to her. "I'm going to make you smile, Shira, of course. It's what I do best!" She lunged at the tiger, yanking out one of her tusks and cut her mouth with it. "Everybody looks better with a smile!" Cross giggled. Shira shrieked out in pain. Cross laughed even more. "Sssshhh Shira, intsead of being scared and in pain, laugh! Laughter is the best stitching tool after all!" She cut open her head with her tusk, broke her skull, and then dug around in her brain. "Where the fuck is that feeling central?!" She took out most of her brain, and even cut out her eyes.

The girl's story was interrupted by the bell. "Oh well! I'll text you tonight the rest!" She jumped out of her seat, laughed, said, "Bye, Kenny!" and ran out of the classroom. "How'd she know my nickname? And how the hell does she have my number?!" I picked up my things, and walked home.

I got home, to see my sister watching "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". It was that episode when Pinkie was singing about how she loved to make her friends smile. I shuddered, and went upstairs. I checked the time, and checked my inbox. I got a text from a mysterious number.

It was that girl. She got my number. "Hey, I gave Cross your number, is that okay?"

I slid the keyboard open and texted back, "Cross is a fictional wolf. She can't text."

"Oh! You're confused. I made Cross a wolf because I love drawing animals! Cross is real! And now she can text you! Isn't that great? I've been noticing you haven't been smiling lately, and I think Cross could make you really happy!"

...This chick's insane. I stopped texting her, and turned my phone off.

I went to bed, ready for the weekend. In the morning, I turned over, and saw a tall, creepy girl staring back at me. "AH!" I kicked at her.

"Hey! That's no way to treat your best friend! And you should try laughing instead of screaming! It's really fun!" She laughed crazely. I blinked, and she was gone.

I've read stories like these before. I know where they lead. I have stopped laughing entirely. I broke my phone, I have stopped watching "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" entirely. I don't go to school either. But a few days ago, I noticed my leg was cut open, revealing my femur. And I had found a picture trying to cover it.

It was the same picture the girl showed me. Except it had a caption.

"Laughter is the best stitching tool."
