The following Journal Entries, Blogs, and Stories depict the 9-day crisis of the open chest disease.

Day 1, September 23

Excerpt from Anonymous Nurses business letter, written at about 9:48 AM

Dear Dr. Palawas,

Our new patient had symptoms we had seen nothing of before. His chest was completely opened, you could see all the organs, still pumping and physically intact. It seems as if his ribcage just parted and released the tissue, but even more disturbing, the man said it felt absolutely painless. We stabilized his heartbeat and temperature, so most of the shock is brought down. Attached is his description of what happened this morning:

"I woke up in the morning, and even with my shirt on, my chest felt unusually more cold than usual. I looked down, and my whole shirt was just red. I jumped at the sight, so I walked into the bathroom to take it off. When I looked at my upper body, I saw a massive parting and I (gibberish speech) the intestine was...still pumping...and..."

That was all we could get out of him before he died. Pretty much heart exploded, spraying blood on our ER occupents. They are currently still undergoing the decontamination process. Something is seriously wrong here.

Dr Palawas's Response, written at about 12:04 AM

Yes, news has gotten around town pretty quickly about this strange phenomena. I had some of the lab boys check for any known viruses, and they actually found abnormal oxygen deprivision in the bloodstream. Whatever he got apparently utilised some type on natural anesthetic. Possibly a parasite's way of decreasing awareness and panick. This is a virus, no doubt about it.

Heres basically what we know so far:

-breaks down bone cells and loosens tissue, possibly what caused the opening of the chest.

Its been hours, this could very well be some rare form of plague, because no other medical records similair to this incident has been confirmed yet. I'll run some more test tomorrow.

{END OF DAY 1}
