The Blood Moon Is Rising

It has been like weeks since I got Terraria, this awesome 2-d sidescroller that is similar to Minecraft, one of the reasons I got it, of course.

When I played Minecraft, I always played on Peaceful, because I was creeped out by caves. The same happened with Terraria, except I had to deal with it, since there is no "peaceful" difficulty.

Well, after playing several multiplayer servers, I progressed, and got rid of my phobia to caves and Corruption, a biome of the game.

After that, I really got into caves, and got almost all types of ores, and accessories. I even beat all the bosses: Eye of Cthulhu, Eater of Worlds, and finally Skeletron.

Some days ago, the 1.0.4 update was out, I was REALLY excited...social items, bunnies, CORRUPT bunnies! When I rushed to download the new version, I was shocked.

1.24 GB? Isn't Terraria just 18 MB or something? Well, I thought it might have been a huge update, and I have a slow connection, it would take hours. But it's Terraria! It was worth it, wasn't it?

Of course it wasn't.

After 1 hour or more, the download was finally over. Then I opened Terraria. I was shocked, again...the title screen had only 1 option: Singleplayer. On the background, there was no day/night transition, instead, just a blood moon background. The "Terraria" logo, didn't have grass, instead, it had Corruption, with a corrupt tree and the particles.

I thought this was cool, like a evil version update, or something. As being the only option, I clicked singleplayer.

There was only one character, the Old Man, and it was called "Alone". I got excited, maybe I could get to play as him, and use Skeletron! That would be so cool, if it were true!

Then there was the world. I really couldn't get what it was called, it was something like :aghgfggddsdswhyyoudidaesgwttyhistomeeeeaha333rrfr666666

That is a VERY long name! I got some words from it, though.

So I clicked on the world, and it instantly loaded it. Well, I was happy, no loading screen!

I appear in the dungeon, but what caught my attention is that on the dungeon blocks, there were vines growing from it, except they were red.

I saw that it was becoming night time. So soon? That's strange.

After the sun got reddish, I got creeped out by the message:

"Screams echo around you..."

Wasn't that supposed to be a message when you break a Shadow Orb? This was a brand new world, so that was weird.

"The Blood Moon is rising..."

Strange, so soon? I guess that was a bug. I took refuge into the dungeon.

There was a dark spot at the left side of the dungeon. I had a candle in my inventory, so it was convenient.

As I walked there with my candle, I couldn't believe my eyes! There was a bed and a chest, the bed was all bloody, with gorey parts from the first character I made!

I open up the chest. Inside there were:

1 Ball o' Hurt, 266 Bones (Which was weird, since the max stack is 250), 1 Bloody Dagger (Maybe a new item?) and Necro Armor.

This is when I got creeped out. I remember getting Necro Armor on my first character from a guy in a server that gifted stuff. I think he was "lego" or something. Can't remember well his name. I took the bloody dagger and the Necro armor, to test it out.

I jumped out of my seat when I heard like 23 zombies coming, it was like a goblin invasion! The sounds all together sound horrible! However, something was strange, they didn't look like zombies, they looked like normal human characters!

I guess the dagger was like a short sword, so I ran up in rampage to the zombies.

Oh god, the pain! When I killed one of them, they made horrible realistic screams! I thought my headphones were going to explode!

Hearing that 23 times ISN'T nice!!

After I killed them all, a message popped out:

"A horrible chill goes down your spine..."

Another Shadow Orb message, but this didn't get my attention. Because the following was worse...

"The Blood is rising..."

Huh? This started to get me really scared, because the OLD MAN STARTED TO BLEED HORRIBLY! It was like lava! It was spreading all the dungeon! I was about to drown on the pool of blood. After that, a loud.. loud... horrible, HORRIBLE scream, that almost made me scream hard.

"You were slain... For what you have done..."

What? What had I done? Did that have to do something with the bloody dagger, the dead character, those 23 zombies? As we all know, the Old Man looks like a poor man, with all ripped clothes. Maybe he used to be very greedy? And when he became poor, his ignorance led him to kill others for his pleasure?

I can't play Terraria anymore, I deleted the file from steamapps.

I hope I can sleep again. I guess not, because every night... the sky seems more reddish...
