The Enderman

I'm writing this, not for popularity, but because I feel this is the only way I can keep my sanity. I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes I make, I cannot sleep due to this entire event.

Now, I'll start things where they started, I was one of the few exclusive people that got to try the Minecraft Beta 1.8 release, I got the download around August 19th or so, and I was looking around for some endermen at night, because I wanted to play around with them, and have fun, maybe test a few bugs with them.

I saw a few, all huddled around something with very realistic looking blood on their hands, not something you'd see on a game with such low graphics, this looked like real blood. I was very disturbed so I messaged Jeb telling him about this, and he replied with this exact message.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about, there's no possible way to add any kind of realistic blood right now, and the download I sent you doesn't even have endermen in it. Are you sure that wasn't just a nightmare? I'm concerned, message me back."

Naturally I messaged back and I said "Yeah, it was probably just a nightmare, sorry for wasting your time."

At this time, I shrugged it off and began messing around again, this time staying in my house as much as possible. Where I saw the endermen was gone, but there was an obsidian shrine of a sort there... I ignored it, and figured it was part of the towns, maybe a messed up portal to the Nether, so I screenshotted it and went on with my buisiness. Now, I went out in the night again to gather food, and I saw another enderman, and I paused the game instantly and went to a friends house to tell him what had happened.

The reason I did this was, the enderman had the same blood kind of blood, and he was holding a realistic, practically a replica of my head, but severed, with blood dropping out of the bottom like a leak in a glass of water. I talked to my friend about this, and he came back to my apartment, and played the update. When I saw the enderman with my head again, he said he didn't see anything but a shrine-looking obsidian tomb area. At this point, I was beyond scared and I didn't want anything to do with minecraft. I un-installed the update, and I messaged Jeb back, and said:

"I know it isn't a nightmare, something is wrong with me. I'm done testing this update. I can't take it anymore."

Now, the next part of this happens literally 3 days after all the events above. I can't take the pain of not knowing, so I re-install the update, and I play around with things, this time avoiding going outside at all, even in day time. My hunger bar got low, so I eventually switched to peaceful, which also made me feel safer due to the lack of any hostile mob, especially the endermen.

Now I see this one enderman anywhere I go. I can't stand to leave my house because everywhere I see that enderman with my head, and it just drives me fucking crazy seeing that, it makes me want to just cry, but I can't cry. That shows them that I'm weak, and shows them I'm an easy target. After all of this, I tried playing the pre-release of 1.8, the one that was released just a few days ago. That was a terrible fucking idea. See, when I started my world, there were endermen all around me, all holding the heads of my friends. But I saw him, the one in the middle, with red eyes, holding my head. Every time I even THINK about it, it hurts me. Not mentally, no, I'm already destroyed mentally.

My neck just hurts the slightest bit every time. It could be the thought or possibility of my neck actually getting cut off that fuels me to find an answer. If anyone, ANYONE has had this happen, let me know. The feeling of knowing I'm not the only one experiencing this is the only thing that will keep me sane.

Comment: Hello, first off, I would like to apologise for what has happened to you. Second, I can explain what has happened. I worked, and still do work at, Mojang. I helped a little with Minecraft. During the time we took to make 1.8, Notch approached me with an idea. What if the Endermen had a leader of sorts? He propsed a headless horseman like figure who would appear after you kill a certain amount of endermen. That is the reason as to why you can prevent enderman attacks by wearing a pumpkin on your head, and possibly why you see them holding your head.

Also, Notch said that the endermen will try to build shrines and obelisks to praise their master. He originally intended they only use obsidian, but later, he decided they will pick up any blocks they find to build these strange things. This is why they pick up blocks. As to all other things that have happened to you, I have no idea, but I've been having the strangest pain in my neckrqgvetth
