The Legend of McDonaldLand Loch - My Part of the Story

Hello. My name is Jared. I'm pretty sure that you're all familiar with the "The Legend of McDonaldland Loch" pasta. Well, I am here today to give my side of the story. Keep in mind this situation happened over I'd say 10 to 14 years ago, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Back in the early 2000's I was one of the head animators for Klasky Csupo. We were working on what was to be the series finale for the cartoon "The Wacky Adventures of Ronald MCDonald". Honestly I had fun working there and seeing the show end that early into it's first and only season was quite saddening because i had fun working on the animation and the guys working there were nice and cool people.

When production began, a new animator was hired for this episode in particular because we were told to make an episode based off the Loch Ness monster. His name was Andrew Skinner, a Scottish animator who came from Fife. Production started and things were running smoothly, I was told to keep an eye on the project and oversee stuff like scripts and the animation. I was also told to keep an eye on Andrew because there had been reports in the past that when he worked in other animation studios that primarily made shows for children, he would suggest really morbid and fucked up ideas and sneak in some NSFW content into the animations that he was working with during that time.

Everything was going smoothly and eventually we were able to get the animation complete. I looked at every detail in the episode and I noticed something was off....

At first it looked like static, but when I looked closely. I could have sworn I saw an image of a mangled face, but I didn't see it at first because it was blended so well with the animation. I also could have sworn I saw an image of what looked like a dead body, but like with the other image, it was blended well with the animation, so well I didn't see it at first.

Another higher up and I were furious, and we demanded an explanation of where the gory images had come from. We also wanted to know who was the animator who was responsible for this.

Suddenly, Andrew Skinner got up from his chair and confessed that he was the person who had put all the NSFW content into the cartoon. After the situation, we fired him without pay and we went back and skimmed through the cartoon to remove the unacceptable content. While we managed to get most of the content out of the animation, we were still convinced that there were more messed up imagery waiting to be discovered.

I left Klasky Csupo a few weeks later and I'd manage to see the episode (now known as "The Monster of MCDonaldLand Loch") and honestly I was proud that the animation turned out to be good after the nightmarish production.

I haven't heard much from Skinner since. However, I did hear that in late 2004 he was hired by Paramount and Nick as an animator for the show SpongeBob SquarePants and made an episode that allegedly was too disturbing to air.

I also heard that back in 2014 a 4Chan user had a copy of the original cut with the NSFW content still in it, but then another user came (allegedly skinner) offered him $15,000 for the tape

To this day I don't know why Skinner did that, the way he sneaked those images into the original animation, and what he allegedly done at the set of SpongeBob back in 04.

But one thing for sure for better or worse I haven't heard from him since.
