The One Outside Your Door

Do you know that feeling? The one where you feel you are being watched? I know that feeling, because whenever you turn around, nobody is there; not a living creature in sight. Everyone gets that feeling.

So you do what everyone else does; you leave your room just to find that your family is all downstairs, whether it's watching TV or reading the newspaper. You feel safe knowing that you aren't alone in the house, don't you? I feel like you are saying yes.

You go back to your room to see everything the way you left it. You go back to your computer and read more scary stories or play games. But you still have that feeling; you turn around and you still see nothing. You notice that your door is open; it's making you uncomfortable so you get up and close it.

Don't close that door. Whatever you do, don't close it. For when you do, you give an opportunity for "it" to come. But, like all people, you decide not to listen to reason and shut it anyways.

You sit back down at your desktop to continue what you were doing before you closed the door. You still get that feeling, but you're to afraid to turn around; the hairs stand up at the back of your neck, you get goose bumps up and down your arms.

Don't turn around.

You hear your mother's voice calling you down for supper, ignore it. You do not want to see what is behind you. And the voice came from "it," not your mom; it's tricking you into thinking it's safe, that it's okay and that all is normal.

The one behind your door is still there, watching you as you read this. Don't turn around.
