Let's get one thing out of the way: Left 4 Dead 2 is my personal investment. It's that addictive and fun of a co-op zombie game that it's something I've invested in for awhile. I've seen countless quirky Gmod/SFM videos, played the game for many hours, and basically knowing everything about it! Though there was one thing I didn't know about, and I wish it remained that way. I was scrolling through the bowls of the Left 4 Dead 2 workshop, looking for some obscure mods that aren't weird anime crap. Then, I saw a rather strange one on the list. It was called "DeadEllis.exe". I knew it was some dumb joke since I know about the whole stupid .exe creepypasta thing refuses to die. The thumbnail was what you'd expect. It was a low quality black and white image of Ellis smiling with MS Paint blood eyes. For the sake of having a good laugh, I decided to download it.

Needless to say, that was a decision I'd soon regret. I launched the game and went into the addon campaign tab, and enthusiastically clicked on it. The entire map was eerie, though I knew there'd be a cheap screamer out of nowhere. It was just a repeating town, with no zombies, no items, and the three other survivors were absent. I was walking around a bit, and then I get jumpscared by Dead Ellis. I was having a pretty good chuckle, and there was some crude text in comic sans that said "YOU GOT SCARED HA HA HA!", with the Trololo meme music playing with a bunch of the Dead Ellis clones dancing. Out of nowhere, the screen went to black, and the text changed to something more sinister. "That was quite funny, wasn't it? But that was just a mere trick! The real game is about to begin". I then found myself in a strange complex of rusted metal and ominous echoes. I knew there would be another cheap jumpscare, but there just... wasn't. I was wandering around aimlessly for five minutes, before stumbling upon... a person.

The "Person" was just the blank Gordon Freeman placeholder model from Half-Life 2. He told me this: "I'd thought you'd fall for my trap, now it is time to suffer!". He proceeded to trap me in a room full of tanks that were shadow colored, and they all made terrifying distorted sounds as they pursued me. Trying to shoot them did not work, and even when I died, the whole thing repeated! I tried exiting the program, but it did not work! I proceeded to shut off my pc, and the last thing that appeared on my PC before shutting down was another message

"I'll be waiting..."
