My Slenderman Sighting

Now a lot of you people are familiar with Slenderman, Slender Man, whatever you call him, specially since the game Slender came out. But he existed way before and I mean, WAY before.

For you that watch MH, like me, you know he is real. I had my doubts before, but now, I'm sure he exists. And I learned it the hard way.

I had fallen asleep while searching stuff about Slenderman on Google. I'm a huge fan. I dozed off at 3 AM and it was about 7 AM when I woke up. I live near a forest. I always head out for a casual walk on the woods. But I was still thinking about Slenderman and how he abducts people in the forest. So I thought "What I am so scared of? He isn't real.". I took a cup of coffee then headed off.

I was very, VERY wrong.

I took my dog with me (I call her Honey) since I was still scared about the idea Slender could be lurking in that forest. It was a beautiful day outside. Cold, but not too cold, and the sky was a bit foggy. But that is what I like to see in the morning.

I saw a dark figure by the corner of my eye and the first thing I imagined was that it was Slenderman. But when I focused on the shadow it was already gone. I looked at Honey and she was staring at the spot the figure was. So I knew it wasn't my imagination. But my skepticism snapped me out of my thought process and made me continue on.

I headed a bit longer in the forest that has a convenient dirt road so that people can walk on it. Unfortunately it was a bit darker ahead so I headed back to my house to get my flashlight. On the way home I thought I saw the figure again, but it happened just like the first time: I focused, it was gone. I thought I was just going insane because of my lack of sleep tonight (3 hours). I felt I needed a bit more caffeine so I went to Moonbucks to get some of that delicious coffee I love so much. By the time I got there, the store had just opened. Luckily I had 10 dollars in my pocket. I bought a medium coffee and headed back. Even though it was morning, there was already a lot of traffic. It was really good seeing other people specially after my incident with the dark figure. But guess what? I saw it again. It was standing in the other side of the road. I could only see it's face behind all the cars. Or, it's head.

The figure had no face.

I wiped my eyes and it was gone. I was getting more paranoid every time. The only thought in my head was Slenderman. He was after me. I didn't feel in the mood of walking anymore so I went to the Mall to interact with other humans.

It was around 10 AM when I got to the Mall. I bought some stuff like a new leach to my dog and one of those fluffy ear protectors. I walked by a store that sold suits and all the mannequins were wearing business suits. And I mean those white mannequins. Not those wood displays. I stood still in front of these, panicking about Slenderman and my experiences with him in the morning. I was just there, watching, when of a sudden, a mannequin moves his hand. I screamed, and it drew a lot of attention to me. Almost half of everybody in the Mall was looking at me, asking "Why the heck are you screaming?".

"T-the mannequin! It, it moved!!!"

Everyone looked at the display. The mannequin that moved was gone. Everyone walked away, thinking I was crazy. But I swear I saw that blasted mannequin right there 3 seconds ago. And I swear I saw it move.

Up to this point, even I were questioning my own sanity. But it was then I remembered that is what Slenderman wants me to do: Go insane. I tried to forget everything and clear my head from those horrible memories. I'm going to stay the night awake, because if I sleep, He will take me.

I went downstairs to play some video games on my Wii. Everything was normal. Except by the fact Honey was staring out of the window all the time. I got tired of it and went outside to check it out. What I saw shocked me beyond belief.

It was the Operator Symbol, spray painted on my walls. I thought it was a vandal, but why would he choose to spray paint the Operator Symbol, something related to Slenderman? But what if it wasn't a vandal...

I did some further research and turns out that the Operator is Slenderman's proper name in the Marble Hornets. Now I'm really terrified.

First of all, Happy Halloween.

It's past midnight already here.

I didn't want it, but I guess it was inevitable. A dozen of kids knocked in my house asking for candy. I didn't wanted to open the door because it doesn't have a Peeking Eye. So I improvised.

I got a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the door until a crack appeared. I used that crack to see what was on the other side of the door. Luckily nothing weird happened. Until a kid with a Slenderman costume appeared. I felt a little sick thinking of all my experiences with the thing 2 days ago. But still I gave him the candy. I eventually ran out of candies so I went to my storage to restock. When I came back I realized I left the door open. I put my hand on the knob and looked to the other side of the street just to see Him staring at me, with that pale head.

I slammed the door shut and got a few chairs and stuff inside to barricade it.

I wasn't in the mood of Trick or Treating right now.

I still can't forget the experience early in the night with that monster. I stood the night awake. Thinking.

I don't know WHY the heck I thought of it, but I did.

I decided to play Slender on computer to distract myself a bit and see if I could uncover anything about Slenderman. Everything was fine. I got caught on 6 notes, which is a pretty good amount, but then I heard a creaking noise near me. I turned back and saw nothing. But then I saw something over the keyboard.

"NOWHERE TO RUN, NOWHERE TO HIDE."

Aw Hell no.

It was one of the notes in the next Slenderman's Shadow games. You know? Those with Mansion and Sanatorium and the other maps. So what was that doing on my Dell's notebook keyboard? The only thing I can think off is that Slenderman placed that thing in my notebook while I turned around to check the creaking noise. But why didn't he take me right away?

Something doesn't make sense...

I'm here writing this. The note is by my side here. Still thinking what to do with it, and why Slenderman is after me. I decided to call my friend Nick and tell him what's happening. I didn't care if he would believe me or not. I just wanted help. I needed to confess. It took a while, but he answered the phone.

"Nick?"

"Hey! Long time no see! What you doing?"

"You won't believe me, but I've seen the Slenderman... *deep breath* He's after me... Could you come over here a second?"

"Nice one bud. What's the catch?"

"There is no catch. Just... just come over here, will you?"

"I'm on my away."

I was pretty surprised he headed over here. I think he noticed I sounded worried. Thank God I have a friend like him.

He arrived around 10 AM. I had to give him proof. I showed him the note.

"What is this?"

"Does this reminds you of anything?"

Silence...

"How did this get here? It's the SAME note from the game!!"

"I told you. No catch. He's after me."

More silence...

"I'm gonna call the police."

"NO! If you do, they will think we're insane and we will probably be arrested for prank calls."

"We gotta do something!"

"We can't..."

I got up from the chair and headed downstairs. Nick was following me. On the way he noticed Honey, still looking out of the window.

"She's been like this since 3 days ago. After the first time I saw that Thing. Follow me. I want to show you something."

I wear my coat and headed out. I showed him the symbol. He recognized it instantly.

"Dude, what the Hell is this doing out here!?"

"It's there since Honey started looking out of the window. Now let's head back inside. We are vulnerable here."

Once I opened the door, I took a quick glance behind me. There he was, just like the Halloween incident.

I stood there watching him. Nick followed my line of sight and jumped when he saw him.

"Nick, go inside."

We entered and I closed the door. I closed all the curtains and doors. Nick helped me with this tasks. It calmed us, but we still didn't feel safe.

Nick is still with me. I think he was still terrified about Slender so he decided to stay here. I didn't know if I told this, but he knows a lot about Slenderman. He never misses a single Marble Hornets episode and is always searching something about the creature.

I was hungry, so I decided to get something to eat. I invited Nick to eat but he said he "lost the appetite". It was when I opened the fridge that I realized I was low on food. I had stocked up in candy for Halloween, so I didn't buy any TRUE food. I only had some leftovers from yesterday's turkey (Yes. I eat turkey on Halloween. Problem?) and some canned food and a bit of pasta. So until Slenderman stops lurking around my house we could be in huge problem. I decided to keep this food for later we are actually starving.

Honey also moved away from the window since that fateful day. She was hungry too. I felt like a monster, for not feeding her for 3 days straight. I set up a bed for Nick, since he was going to spend the night here. But I don't think he would sleep either. I went upstairs and saw that damned note. I then had an idea. I played Slender Sanatorium to see if the note was there. Oh boy, I was surprised.

I wandered through the whole map. I got 7/8 notes. The only note that was remaining was the "Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide" note. The one that is with me. I checked the whole map, but it wasn't anywhere. I picked up the note to examine it but when I did...

"8/8 Notes Collected. Escape! Run back to the Entrance!"

It was the same note from the game. I'm sure now. Just in case you didn't get it I will explain.

Upon collecting all the 8 notes, you need to escape. But the note that is with me is the same from the game. When I touched it, it said I got that note. So it's linked to the game, somehow.

Could the Slenderman that is following me be the same one from the game?

I was so drifted off in these thoughts, that I completely forgot about the game. I managed to beat it. One funny thing is that I didn't see Slender in the game this time.

If the Slenderman from the game is the same one that is after me, I may get some peace by now. I ran downstairs and tripped over, rolling down the ladder. Nick ran to me to help me get up. I didn't get hurt, somehow. I told Nick the whole story and he was shocked. I told him to try it himself. In fact, he's up there using my second computer to play the game while I'm writing this in my Notebook. I feel bad for getting him into this mess. But he didn't care much.

The idea of a videogame character chasing me IRL was just completely absurd. It's like if I were being stalked by the Amnesia monsters. I fell asleep tonight. I had a nightmare. I was in a dark corridor. There was only darkness to both sides. All of a sudden, two Slendermens appeared from both sides of the corridor. There was nowhere to go. They were coming. Coming. Slowly. I tried to scream, but there was no sound. I could just wait until they got to me. They finally reached me. Instead of being brutally murdered, the ground disappeared and I was in a room, with blood in the was spelling things like "NO ESCAPE" and "SURRENDER" and other stuff. I was looking at those messages, when out of nowhere two arms grabbed me and dragged me into darkness. I jumped from the couch where I had fell asleep screaming. Nick jumped too.

"Dude, what the fuck?" (Nick and me aren't the type of people that curse much. So for him to curse, it's gotta be something extreme.)

"I had a nightmare."

"What was it?"

I told him the whole story.

"Wow. That was intense."

I got up from the couch to get some coffee. Nick followed me.

"What you want for breakfast?" I asked.

"Do you have eggs?"

"Let me check... yes."

"I always eat scrambled eggs for breakfast. They're my favorite food."

"Me too. I guess that's why we are friends.. We have so much in common."

I cooked the eggs and went to the storage to get some food to restock the fridge. I was walking down the steps when I saw a figure at the bottom. He was inside my home now.

"AAAAAAAAAACK!!!" I screamed.

"Dude? Dude are you OK?"

I ran upstairs and shut the door behind me. I started barricading it. Just like the Halloween incident.

"Dude, what are you doing??"

"SHUT UP AND HELP ME! GET SOME STUFF TO BLOCK THIS!!! HE WAS DOWN THERE!!!"

I didn't even need to finish the phrase and Nick already started to help me.

"Oh shit!! How he got inside here???"

"I DON'T KNOW!!"

We dragged everything we could find in front of that door. I don't think he would get out of there.

I was searching for something about the creature on the Internet. Nick and Honey were looking at the storage door. To see if anything would happen. I came across a video called "Slender Man Song" by TheIllusoryGentleman. I clicked it, and to my surprise it was extremely catchy. While watching it, the door started making sounds as if Slenderman was trying to bring that door down. Me and Nick new that it was the only thing stopping Him from getting in here and murdering us. We put some more things in front of it to slow Slenderman down. After a while he eventually stopped. I heard the sound of a window opening. We checked and Slenderman escaped through the storage window. We left the barricade there, just in case he decides to come back.

Today my eletronics started to get messed up. On my TV, some times the screen flashes with static and I see a brief picture of Slenderman. My phones aren't working. The power is flashing. It's the Slender Static, as I like to call it. I'm writing this pretty quick because soon my Internet is going to going to

Just as I suspected, my Internet lost signal while writing the post. It came back one hour ago. I phoned my costumer service to ask what why my Wi-fi signal disappeared. They told me that nothing was wrong. The attendant was talking but then the sound disappeared.

"Hello? Hello can anyone hear me?"

A ear-bursting screech comes out of the phone I drop on the ground. It is shattered to pieces. Now me and Nick don't have anyway to communicate to the outside world, the only way we can get informed about the happenings is the Internet and the television. But every now and then I lose signal for the TV and Internet. So we need to stay smart for when the eletronics work again to get informed on the news. I hope this stop soon.

Over one month has passed.

What happened?

Nick just had to leave yesterday. His Grandmother wasn't doing so well he had to visit her in the hospital. Nothing weird happened these days, thank God. But I still don't feel safe. Slenderman never lets his victims escape.

Only 9 days? I swear it took longer. So Nick just came back to check on me. He bought some groceries on the way. I paid him for the food and he stood here. He also talked with his mother for the first time since a month. I'm getting tired of this.
