One of my favorite cartoons of all time was Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, both because I like Legos and ninjas. The newer episodes aren't my cup of tea, but I am still a huge fan. For those unfamiliar with the show, it mainly focuses on six ninjas, Kai, Zane, Cole, Jay, Nya, and my personal favorite, Lloyd. Every season is more story driven rather than having one-off episodes, which I find unique.

One day, I was browsing the internet looking at Ninjago content, when I came across a link that read, "Nin11.avi". The "Nin" reminded me of Ninjago, so I clicked on it. I heard Sensei Wu's (the leader of the ninjas) voice. "Previously on Ninjago..." he said. It was a Ninjago episode. The video played the season 1 intro, so by that logic, I thought the "11" meant that this was the 11th episode of Ninjago, "All of Nothing" I think it's called. After the theme song, Sensei Wu read the title of the episode, but it read, "Kai's Revenge". I thought it was weird, and by that point, I questioned if this was fan-made, but it looked too legit. Couple that with my curiosity, and I decided to watch it. Let me tell you, I was not prepared for what was about to happen.

The episode began with Lloyd training. The ninjas, Nya, and Wu were watching him, but Kai looked... angry, upset even. I thought this was just an animation error, so I thought nothing of it. Lloyd's training went on for about a minute, and every so often, the scene would cut to the ninjas, every time playing a weird droning sound.

After Lloyd's training, the scene changed, this time to the ninjas' bedroom. Kai was hunched over, looking like he was about to cry. The same droning sound from before was playing in the background. Kai closed his eyes for about 30 seconds, before opening them up again. His eyes were red, like, plain red; no white pupils in his eyes at all, and he had an angry expression on his face. He got up, grabbed his sword, and walked out of the room.

The next scene showed the Ninja HQ through, what I assume was, Kai's point of view. He walked to a door an opened it. Lloyd was in there playing video games, unaware that Kai was behind him. As Kai got closer, Lloyd turned around. He asked what he was doing with his sword. Kai didn't respond; he just breathed very heavily. As the breathing got louder and louder, Lloyd became more scared. As Lloyd screamed, the scene cut to black.

The scene then switched to the ninjas eating dinner. "Where's Lloyd?" Jay asked, "He hasn't been around in five hours." Cole said he was going to go check on him. Kai reassured him that he was fine, but Cole went to go check anyway. When he opened Lloyd's door, he saw him, or what was left of him, on the ground. He let out an ear piercing scream as the camera cut to Lloyd's corpse. He was lying dead on the floor, bleeding, with his organs exposed! I screamed along with Cole; I could feel his fear! "Sorry, Cole," Kai said, "but I must do this!" He stabbed Cole right in his torso as blood dripped out of the wound! I paused the episode to go cry in the bathroom until I was ready to go back and watch the rest of it. As I walked back into my room, I looked at my clock and noticed that the episode had been running for twice as long! I don't know how I failed to notice, but normally Ninjago episodes run for 22 minutes and the newer episodes run for 11 minutes. This was running for 40 minutes!

As days passed, each member of the ninja team was curious about where the other one was, and as they found out, Kai would kill them in various ways like choking Jay with his nunchucks or shoving Wu's staff down his throat a la the Banana Splits movie. There was only one person left besides Kai: his sister, Nya. Nya asked where everyone else was and decided to look for them. When she found them, she saw Kai burning the bodies with his sword (each of the ninjas' weapons has elemental powers). Nya was horrified, saying that Kai had gone too far and that he needed to stop. "Sorry, sis, but I just can't get enough," Kai said in a psychotic voice. As he stabbed Nya, Kai closed his eyes and said, "I'm sorry," with a tear running down his cheek. Kai then goes on about how he should have been the green ninja and that it was unfair for a child to take the role.

The credits then rolled with the same droning sound playing in the background one last time. I was mortified by what just happened, questioning what I just watched. I went onto YouTube and asked Lego why they would air something so scary assuming it wasn't fan-made. This is the reply I got:

"First of all, yes, this is a legitimate episode. Second of all, it was never meant to air as the 11th episode of the show; we only made it as a joke. We thought it would be funny if Kai was upset that Lloyd was the green ninja and not him. We even had the cast record all of the lines (don't worry, we told them it was a joke). If I were to guess, someone probably found this episode and thought it would be funny to scare someone, probably as a Halloween prank or something. And in case you're wondering why it was 40 minutes, we made it a two parter. We will take the video down as soon as we can, but until then, we hope you can sleep well tonight.

Sincerely,

The Ninjago animation company."
