Red Dead Zombie Glitch

A very disturbing thing happened to me in Red Dead Redemption a few weeks ago. I had just finished the campaign and was playing as Jack, wandering around hunting animals and collecting pelts. I had just killed a wolf and was about to skin it when I noticed that a small area of dirt underneath it was starting to shake. A rotten looking hand burst out and pulled the wolf into the ground. I could hear something eating and moaning. I pulled out my pump action shotgun and aimed at the dirt. A few seconds later, the hand came back up, but this time a body came with it. The cutscene played from when your in Undead Nightmare and a "named zombie" bursts from the grave.

The only thing is, I was playing the normal game. To my surprise, I saw the zombie's name appear at the bottom of the screen... "Edgar Ross"... I kept thinking, "This is fucking impossible!".

Ross pulled out a bloody knife, which was dark grey and chipped. It looked very old and didn't look like the normal knife which player can acquire. the game allowed me to play again as Ross started to walk towards me, so I shot him in the head.

He stumbled back a bit and then laughed and said with a dry voice "Just like your father, shoots first..." after he finished talking, I didn't hesitate to shoot him in the head again. Ross fell to the ground, so I thought i killed him.

He started moaning before he getting up and saying "Heh, you're going to regret that..." As soon as he stopped talking, he bolted towards me. I wasn't able to do anything to stop Ross grabbing Jack by the collar and stabbing him in the stomach. Jack yelled out in pain; the scream sounded so terrifying I nearly screamed myself. Ross twisted the knife, then pulled the knife out and put it away. What he did next almost made me puke. Ross reached into Jack's stomach wound and ripped out his guts before eating them.

Jack fell to his knees and muttered the words "I'm sorry, Pa". After that, the usual game over screen popped up, but I didn't get to choose whether to load, save or restart near town; it just put me in Armadilo.

As soon as I got there, I was deeply disturbed. Everybody had been murdered. I thought "Maybe it was a bandit attack or something", but instead of gunshot wounds, they all had very graphic stomach wounds with their guts ripped out, just like what happened to Jack. There must have been at least 100 people (instead of the usual 20-25). I started to walk towards one of the bodies, when suddenly the body sat up. The body looked at me with bloodshot eyes. It got up and just stood there, but then all the other bodies stood up with him, and about a hundred bloodshot-eyed zombies looked at me. I was terrified. The zombies started to run towards me and I ran towards a nearby building and jumped on top of it. I was completely surrounded. I sat there for a minute thinking about what I should do. I couldn't shoot them due to being out of ammo, and my only weapon was my knife. I pulled it out, and I nearly screamed; it was the same old bloody knife Ross used to stab Jack. Since fighting was pointless, I started thinking.

The only thing I thought of was calling my horse and trying to make a quick getaway. I figured I might as well try it, so I called my trusty steed, but as soon as my horse arrived all the zombies ran towards it and knocked it down to rip it apart. I was disgusted, but I realized this was my only chance to get away since they were distracted. As soon as my feet hit the ground, the zombies looked at me. I didn't hesitate and ran out of the town as fast as I could. The zombies were quick on my tail and were slowly gaining on me. Within about 20 seconds, one of the zombies smacked me on to the ground. The others surrounded me and Jack was screaming in agony. All I could see was blood flying from the center of the hoard. They stopped after about 30 seconds. A zombified version of jack stood up and muttered "You're going to regret that" then the camera froze in place and Jack started to walk towards the screen. It looked like he was looking right at me, so before he could get any closer I turned off the Xbox.

I spent the next few hours looking at forums to see if any one else had encountered this. I posted a few comments about it explaining what happened but no one seemed to know what I was talking about. Confused and scared, I decided to try to get some sleep. After an awful night's sleep, I checked my Facebook and Emails as usual, but I had a strange email which lacked a subject line. Foolishly, I clicked on it... all it said was "You're going to regret that- Edgar Ross".
