It was a regular day for me, playing video games, eating breakfast and all, but I also had a date scheduled today. So, like any other sane person, took a show, got ready, and began to depart. My girlfriend was at softball practice, so I decided to watch her team play a game. When I arrived, they had only scored one point while the other team had scored five.

When they had switched positions, her team was on a scoring streak. One batter got a 2nd baser, and my girlfriend got a hit. I was cheering and clapping loudly, as everyone else was. But alas, we were short one point. But, I was very proud of my girlfriend and gave her a big hug after the game.

So, the coach wanted to make sure that everyone was together, but when we were checking, one person was missing. My girlfriend [REMOVED] was calling out her name. But no response. She kept calling her name out and so did the rest of us. Still no response. Now at this point, everyone started to get worried, even the coach (obviously). As a result, we started to look around. I went with R (my girlfriend's first initial) to look around the forest area. I accidentally stepped on something, a little USB chip. The thing that scared me is that I read something about a USB disk being left out in the forest. Scared and creeped out, I told R about it. She said that we should take it home and check it out.

So her parents dropped me and her off at my house. When we went inside, we went straight to my room to chuck out the USB. Right after I plugged it in, my mom said that she had to go buy a few things. I was scared, being that she was the only adult in the house at the moment. But I ignored my fear, and saw the prompt to allow the USB to open its folders. When the folder opened, it contained a folder called PlayBall.png. Me and R were slightly frightened, but because of that, we ran a virus check on the folder, and McAfee gave us the clear, so we continued on. What was contained in the folder was slightly disturbing.

There was two application files, Soft.exe and Base.exe, both being related to the events that occurred today. The date said that it was last modified today. Then all of a sudden, a loud, ear-busting sound played though the speakers and a disturbing picture was displayed for a spit second, but it was slow enough for it to be carved into my mind. I literally fell out of my chair when I saw this. It appeared that R had opened Base.exe, and she stood her ground. She rolled her eyes and said, "That was all it had to it and YOU fell out of your chair?" "Heh, well, it was slightly weird." I said casually. But nether the less, we continued on. I was just about to open Soft.exe, when my computer black-screened, and showed a Nintendo Game. The game was called Base, a game that I have never heard of. There was two options, but no option that said exit or quit. Being that it was a Nintendo game, it didn't make it creepy, but if it's an emulator, then the creator of the emulator should of added a quit or exit button. But continued on, knowing that my conscious was worried of what was to come.

The Game

The main menu was what was expected from a old Nintendo game, 8-bit. When I pressed play, though, It went from 8-bit to a high graphics game, such as Team Fortress 2. And it appeared to be TF2, but now what I was expecting. I was automatically pulled in, and my character was boted, and he immediately batted into the darkness, then a girls face appeared, with no pupils in its eyes. It ran up to me and slashed the character, showing his blood and entrails falling out of his body in third person. He shortly collapsed, and the girl turned to the screen, looking into my eyes. "Life is just a ball game..." Then the game shut off, and Base.exe was erased from the folder. Then somehow, someone managed to locate my IP Address, and got remote control over my computer and opened Soft.exe. It played a little cradle tune, and showed a girl in the cradle. The girl was the one that went missing. Me and R were in shock, as it showed a figure rocking the cradle. The figure said, "Soon you two will be in this cradle, and I will be watching."

Soon after, the computer blue-screened and turned off. It turned back on successfully and I removed the USB and threw it out the door. Frightened by the experience, I held my girlfriend in my hands, calming her down. Shortly after, my parents returned home...
