Line 2:
Hello readers, my name is Eric Bennett and my son Max loves video games. He was about 6 years old and he was into the Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic, and Pokémon type games. So I looked on eBay and found him a Sonic the Hedgehog game. The one who uploaded it was SonicFan73 and the game had been on eBay for quite a while. The game was on sale for a fair price (about $5.99) and came with a Sonic the Hedgehog plushie. So I purchased it.
When it finally came, I gave it to my son, and he got so excited that he went up to his room and played the game. A few days passed, I was watching the Andy Griffith Show with my wife, and my son ran up to me and told me he was about to beat the final boss, so I went to his room and watched him beat the game. After the credits rolled, I noticed another game disc in the game case. I pointed and said, “What’s that?”
MAX’S POINT OF VIEW
I looked and notice a game disc for computers that had black marker on it written Anti-Sonic.exe. It must have been an extra game, so I asked Dad if I could play it on his computer. He said, “Go right ahead.” The title screen from the second Sonic the Hedgehog game appeared, but when I pressed start, the image of the title screen changed for a split second before cutting to black. Being just a little kid, I couldn’t very well comprehend what the image looked like, regardless of that little change, I continued.
The data screen from Sonic 3 popped up, and I was like, “What the heck? What’s this doing in the second Sonic the Hedgehog game?” There were 3 save files; Amy, Shadow, and Espio. Seeing as how the Shadow and Espio files were locked, I chose Amy. Then, the game froze for about 5 seconds and then I heard this god-awful pixelated laugh. The act screen appeared as “Rejected Act 1” and Angel Island appeared on the screen. But there were no robot enemies and no sign of Dr. Eggman whatsoever. I controlled Amy with the right and left arrow keys, but as she walked, the music slowed down, and with every step she took, the music got slower and slower, until it stopped.
