Sonic was stuck in the forest, and he was looking for a magical place.
He looked down at his treasure map which had been marked by his good friend Knuckles, and it said: "you've never been born", which was weird because Sonic remembered being born, as most people do. He remembered all the specific details of his birth.
Sonic was very confused because the map didn't apply, it was wrong. The forest was changing to trap him forever.
