Author's note: Just a quick heads-up before you read this, this creepypasta is pretty bad. Don't take anything in this creepypasta seriously, because I made this in my room when I was 12 years old, and it may have spelling mistakes, so be warned!

Prolouge

Hello. My name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick. I want to tell you a story of a time which I was a bit creeped out. I'm just going to come out and say, this wasn't ALL that bad! It's not like I'm "never going to look at this franchise the same way again", or "what happened to me has changed my forever". I just think this was the case of a severe hallucination. Back when I was 12 years old, in 1989, for my birthday, I got an NES with the original Mario trilogy. I played it for hours and hours on end, beating every single game, and I LOVED it! After my birthday though, a friend at my school accidentally made me sick, by coughing and sneezing on me. But when I got my temperature checked, I realized i got the flu, so i was immediately sent home. Since my mom was downstairs watching TV and none of my other siblings were home, I decide to pass the time by playing video games, specifically Super Mario Bros. 2, but i started seeing things, and my mind tricked me into thinking I was playing some twisted version of a game I loved just a day ago, and it made for a wild and crazy adventure!

The Game

I started the game as usual, picking Mario, because he's the main character, and headed to the first zone. I always felt uneasy whenever I first entered this zone, the black sky, the big fall, it just didn't feel great to see it, but after going through that, I got into the meat of the first zone, the platforming section. after I got a mushroom through subspace, took out foes with a POW, and suddenly got stopped in my tracks by a giant pillar. I went to grab an item on the long log he was standing on, but got a potion instead of the usual turnip. I didn't want to throw it, but I had no choice. It was already in my hand. With hesitation, I threw it, and entered the door that came from it. It seemed normal at first, but then when i popped out of it and came back, I was a little disturbed. The sky was black, like the first area of the zone, and the music was just a series of low notes playing one at a time, forever. Okay, that was creepy and all, but at least the pillar was gone, so I pushed through to the boss fight area. along the way, there were no weeds signaling items to pick up, no enemies, and practically no sign of life. just pure nothingness. when I got up to the boss area, everything was back to normal for the rest of world 1. What? So i used my handy dandy warp to world 4. Afterwards, I regretted doing that. Everything seemed normal at first, but 5 seconds later, it just went STRAIGHT back to Creepytown, with the sky black and no sign of life, but this time, the music was a jumbled mess of high and low pitched sounds. After what seemed like Walking Simulator 1989 style, i reached a corpse. But it wasn't just any corpse. It was Birdo. After Mario watched the horrific scene, he kneeled and bawled his eyes out for 10 seconds. Afterwards, a Subcon came, and said things that shook me to the very core of my soul.

"WE KILLED HER FOR OUR PLEASURE."

"YOU DIDN'T SAVE US IN TIME."

"AND NOW..."

"WE WILL KILL YOU TOO!"

In an instant, a swarm of Subcons swarmed Mario, making sounds that sounded like an angry riot. When they reached Mario, every sprite suddenly distorted, and a high pitched screeching sound suddenly came from my TV. 5 seconds later, the NES shut off by itself. I thought about telling my mom, but since i had the flu, i decided it was just a hallucination. Before I stopped, though, i turned back on the game, but it was just a simple screen of a sad Mario, with text saying, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS?" what that meant was unclear, but i just decided to go to sleep.

Aftermath

It's been years and i've gotten over this situation, but I still find it upsetting otherwise. But it's not something I will lose sleep over. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed this cheesy crappypasta, and if not, i just hope i gave you something to laugh over! Bye!
