The Judgement Day
Startled, a young man shot out of bed gasping for air. Images of a dark void filtering through his brain like a film. The young man had these experiences more and more every night. The images faded away enough for him to stumble into the kitchen.
He had decided that sleeping wasn’t an option. Shuffling quietly through the house, as if anyone still lived with him. It was a habit that he had created when his wife was still living with him. She had gone missing a month or so ago, that same night, Jeremy began having the strange dreams and the eerie feeling that someone had their eye on him.
Jeremy watched as the fragrant coffee slowly filled his mug to the brim. Suddenly, hearing a loud crash, Jeremy spilled his coffee on himself. Frantically, he scanned his kitchen, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, however the loud crashing sound continued.
Despite his paranoia and churning stomach, Jeremy thought it best to search through his house. He moved towards his back door, the sound getting louder. He cracked the door open and peered out. Dead silence filled the air. The noise had stopped.
Worried, Jeremy locked all of his doors, and headed back towards the bedroom. Faintly in the distance, he heard a loud scream, similar to the ones he had heard the night of Karen’s disappearing. He ran towards the sound, screaming her name.
He heard the obnoxious noise from earlier again, ignoring his gut instinct, he ran out of his door.
The screams got louder as Jeremy ran, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He was in the woods where the screams became louder and louder by the second. The screams were no longer distant. They began to cover Jeremy and slowly drive him insane.
Trying to ignore his dizziness he continued to run. He no longer knew what he was running for, but for some reason he felt the urge to continue on. Jeremy gazed at the clouds, turning a sickly green color, they opened up and a large creature fell from them. Jeremy felt his heart racing even more as he became overwhelmed by the constant screaming sound.
No longer being able to take the voices in his head, Jeremy collapsed to his knees. The large creature was moving closer and now he could make out a few physical characteristics. The man-like being was a lanky, shadowy red, winged skeleton of some sort. Holding a large blade in his hand, the creature had reached Jeremy.
“Judgment is upon you."
