The Observer

[MAY 7]

My name is John J. Johnson.

I frequent this restaurant all the time. "Danny's Pizza" has really good food and it keeps me coming back. Every week I'll sit down at my favorite table, tell the waiter to get me a glass of water with half ice, and connect to the free WiFi. But something always disturbs me. There's a television hanging on the wall in the corner, and every time I look at it I see the strangest thing. It's a still video of an older man watching over the restaurant as he stares seriously into the camera, with his mouth slightly open. The first time I came to the place I asked the waiter if it was broken, but he didn't say anything was strange about it. He just said he was "observing". Observing what? People eating pizza?

I'm going to come back tomorrow and see if it's the same.

Yep, just as I thought. He's still there. I ordered the chicken alfredo. Yum.

One week since I've been there last. It's still on that same channel. I asked Danny himself what the deal was with the TV, but he didn't give me a straight answer. He just kept calling him "The Observer". Why is he watching over this place so much? I'm going to see if I can dig into this mystery deeper...

[MAY 15, 11:05 PM]

So, I'm standing outside the place late tonight, looking in the window, and that damn TV is still on. But here's the thing: the guy was gone. It just showed that weird background without him there. Where did he go?

I'm starting to think this Observer guy isn't just a still image on a screen, but an actual entity. He's obviously very keen on watching over customers as they eat... and when the store closes, he seems to leave with Danny and the others. What is going on here? Also, I ordered the chicken alfredo again.

Something crazy happened today. I took an absence from going there for two days and I hear that some crazy drughead broke his way into the pizza place late at night on the 17th... but when they watched the cameras, he sort of disappeared and was never found. Right before he vanished they say that he started twitching and convulsing on the floor. I don't even know what to say at this point. Was it The Observer?

[MAY 20]

I went into the pizza place out of curiosity and what I saw made me freak out. It was a new "Observer", watching over the store with a meth-addicted look about him. It was the suspect who broke into the store late at night; it had to be him. I marched over to the counter and demanded to speak with Danny. They said he wasn't in today. I asked them what was the deal with the people on the TV, but they just told me it was "The Observer". I was getting extremely annoyed, and I told them I'd call the police. The cashier told me to have a nice day.

[MAY 20, 6:15 PM]

I told Officer Robinson about the ordeal. He told me he'd go and check it out later.

[MAY 21]]

No. No fucking way. No way this can be real. I went into Danny's Pizza again and I looked at that stupid TV... and Officer Robinson's blank stare was looking back at me. What are they doing to these people here?

[MAY 21, 3:25 PM]

Danny came over to my house. We're going to talk privately for a little while. He's sitting in my living room right now and
