The Unholy Number of Gaming

Ok, you may think I'm crazy, but here me out. You've heard of the number of the beast right? 666? That's not it. Here, here it is. While I've been playing Legend of Zelda:Spirit Tracks lately, I also got 2 games before then, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders. Now, in Sonic Heroes, there are 4 teams at the start of the game. I had wanted to finish all of them, but...for some reason. Something strange happened. All of my games couldn't go beyond the credits, or else it crashed. I found out the disc was scratched. Now, what does all of this have to do with the unholy number of gaming? I'll tell you...

When I went to play the game lately, I had been reading quite a few creepypastas, and becoming afraid of games for some reason. I think it's that growing fear you get when others are scared, you think you aren't scared, and then after a while it gets to you. Well, I picked up Eternal Darkness, and began playing. I had left Sonic Heroes in, just in case I wanted to play the game again, but, I grabbed Eternal Darkness, so what was I gonna do, play Sonic Heroes with Eternal Darkness in my hand along the way? I replaced the disc, and started the console. Then I saw Sonic Team, and the SEGA logo. I was wondering what had happened, so I turn the console off, took the disc out, and start the console with no disc. It started up the way it normally does, with the options to change the date, look at your latest saves, play the game you put in the console after starting it, well, I guess that was the one thing abnormal. I checked the save states, and saw that my Sonic Heroes save states weren't there. I went to look at the game option, and I saw Sonic Heroes, and where I thought I would see the normal description of the game, I found the words, kind of hard to read, but still clear enough that it was possible:"Save State". This wasn't all that creepy, all that scary to me, because I just thought it was a glitch dealing with the Disc having a scratch on it, with my little knowledge of how the GameCube was programmed. I went to play the game, and when it started, it seemed to work perfectly. I pressed start, kind of wandering how the game worked without it being in the console, but still, kind of happy...I guess, or was it a weird feeling I can't tell of? I can't tell which it was at the time, so I went on. I tried looking to the story mode, but it wouldn't allow me. I went to the right, on the box with ???, which I new was the last story, but I hadn't unlocked it, and normally clicked it for fun, but this time, it was strange...it almost worked. I pressed it, and I went to the Team select screen! I was really feeling that weird feeling now! Like, why did this happen? And even stranger...all the characters instead of the unholy number, were at 100. They were all complete. I went to select my favorite team, Team Chaotix, and it went to the ending cutscene, then the credits, then it crashed. I facepalmed as all the strangeness took over my happiness. I failed to notice the flash of that girl from Eternal Darkness in the bloody bathtub scene, but with red eyes...well...I kind of saw it. But my hand went up to my face too fast to realize it until now. It flashed up for only a millisecond, before the game truly crashed. I did my normal routine, of going to the game concole, opening the top and closing it, and waiting for a while. But this time, I saw the splash screens for Eternal Darkness, then the game immediately came up, and crashed. I was furious. What the hell happened? Well, I stopped playing those games for a while, went to PC to work on my SMBX episode. I came back, when I wanted to play my GameBoy Advance cartridge that can play any games that you put on it, (I have an SD card so I can put a lot on it, and it's compatible with NES and obviously GBA games). I put it in the GameCube, put the disc in that allows me to play GBA games, and, it loads up Sonic Heroes. And it looked as glitchy as an Action 52 game on a bad day, it didn't look good at all. It seemed all pixelated, all the models in what I think was the main game were scewed up, and it just didn't look right. I stopped the game, and left it for a while. Me and my family went to Alabama, and before we went, I wanted to get a game for DS, but because I couldn't play a DS until after the trip, since I didn't have it with me, I had to wait afterward, having a hard time to get the game I wanted, I actually got a different game, Legend of Zelda:Spirit Tracks. I played the game for a while, slightly got annoyed like always, and decided to play the Gameboy Advance cartridge again. This time, I put it in the DS, started it up, and at the option screen that a DS normally has, it looked different. It may of carried data over from the fucked up Gamecube, but where it would be able to play a DS game, I saw the words "Play Eternal Darkness" with the red eyed Alex. I selected it, and the DS froze for a second, than turned itself off. I turned the DS back on, and that's when it happened. The unholy number of gaming popped up, all over the screen, I saw:96. The same number as the completion on Sonic Heroes, that I couldn't go past. I realized that this number wasn't such a good number. I went back on the computer, with the GBA and plugged the SD card into the PC, to see if I can find out the problem. That didn't work, as it crashed the PC, making me lose all me and my Dad's files, and my Dad not believing me that it was the SD that crashed his computer, he banned me from the computer for a month. I went back to Eternal Darkness, and decided to try it out again. This time it ran like normal. I went to the save files, to try and load one, and none were there. So I had to start from the beginning. Instead of the normal battle the Zombies with a shotgun in your sleep intro, I was put in the mansion immediately. I turned the character around to see the character, or more or less try out the door, and her eyes were red. Her mouth dropped down, her arms fell off, and blood fit for the gamecube came spilling out of every orfice of her body. I was wondering what had happened. I noticed the screen darken as it went on. I tried to reset the console when the screen flashed green. I was getting creeped out...was this a glitch? Of course it wasn't! It was that god damned scratched disc, Sonic Heroes, but it wasn't a glitch! I went back to the place where I got the game, GameStop, and they wouldn't say anything about the orignal owners of the disc, why would they? Why did I think they would know the original owners? I finally said something about the disc that got their attention apparently, it was about the strange things going on with the PC, GBA, Gamecube, and DS that was going on. They said they found the disc laying in front of someones house. The others didn't say anything else, as they seemed annoyed, but the one who works behind the desk himself apparently believed in ghosts, and said that the disc was probably haunted. He also said that it could of transferred to the other game devices that I've been using. When I heard that, I rushed back home. I knew I needed to find a way to get rid of the ghost, but I didn't know how. I forgot to ask the man. I went in the house when I heard that the water was turned on. I went to the restroom, and saw the worst thing I thought I could. I was crying when I saw this. My Dad was in the bath tub, but the water a dark red, eyes as if he'd seen a ghost before he died...he looked so pale...I knew what had happened. But the next thing, is something I couldn't understand. My Mom came in the restroom, she was asking questions, like "Where have you been?" and "Why are you crying?", but the question that got me the most worried, is when I finally looked at her, "Why are you looking at the tub like that?". She had the numbers 96 on her forehead. She only laughed at me as I looked at her in fear.
