Ibi.exe (2024 remake): Difference between revisions

 

Back in the summer of 2015, when me and my parents were in Ankara to visit my grandparents (my father's parents), I saw an animated edutainment show on TRT Çocuk ("TRT Kids" in Turkish), called "Ibi". To explain what it is, it is about a pink-haired 10-year-old girl named Ibi who, along with her turtle partner Tosi, travel around the fantasy land of Baldiyar to look after the Atlas of Baldiyar owned by Tosi's grandfather Tibedo. Coincidentally, two incompetent robots, Pumba and Hoppa, was out for the same treasure. Throughout the journey, Ibi and Tosi help unfortunate people using problem-solving skills related to either mathematics, science or just anything general. The target audience was 6-8, and the character design, art style and backgrounds looked vaguely like Cartoon Network's Adventure Time, but the premise? Not that much. I absolutely watched the heck out of it, even though I was above the show's target demographic.

And then, Ibi came up behind me and whispered in my ear: "Ibi is watching you." I was scared, but still didn't say anything.
