Many years ago, I remember that I always used to play Mario Party. I forgot which game it was, but every time I think about, I always get this nostalgia. I also feel that “It’s Just a Burning Memory” plays in my head when I think about my childhood playing that Mario Party game. I wanted to play Mario Party again to kind of rescue that nostalgia. So I went to my local GameStop and bought Mario Party 9 for some reason. Anyway, when I was driving home, I got suddenly hit with more nostalgia. I also couldn’t control it, although it faded when I got to my house. Anyway, when I got home, I put the DVD in my Wii, and when I started playing it, I then finally figured out something.

When I booted up the game and saw the title screen, I saw that the graphics and design were very similar to the Mario Party I remember. Anyway, I booted it up and saw the main menu, which was also really similar to what I thought it looked like in my mind. Then, when I pushed the “Solo” button, suddenly, ball room music from the 1920’s or so started to play, and the game started to feel, off. I couldn’t figure out what it was, but it just felt off. I then picked Mario and started my Solo adventure. Then, I noticed that there was no cutscenes. I remembered from my childhood there was cutscenes. I barely remember what they were, but I remember they existed. Anyway, then we got on the first board, called Toad Road.
