24 June 2087

Dear diary,

It has been 72 years since Jacksfilms has first begun to lull his audience with promises of YGS100, video after video after video.

We managed to raid the empty shops for shelter; it will have to do for the night. We've managed to make enough make-shift beds for the pregnant women and younger children. We've rationed the distribution of laptops, daily Wi-fi and data plans for mobile devices.

So far, we've been surviving long enough on YIAYs and YGS 99.789A-BDRS, but our survival is running low. Those who stay offline for too long go into fits of madness and hysteria, the looming anxiety of missing YGS100 when it comes out.

Lately, there has been talk of a dooming possibility, one that could destroy our society and our way of life, one that would snuff out hope like a weakened candle: There is not going to be a YGS100. There never will be.

This doubt looms over me, over us all, every waking minute. We dare not speak of it; it is the only source of hope for our civilization and way of life. We're low on food, water, we're reproducing far more than we can sustain, but this is our only source of hope. Without it, we are doomed to the madness that will drive us all into extinction. There was just a new video released. The title was, "YGS-99.937483-BGJK". The whole community lined up to write their 'first' comment in the comment section-their only comment portion of the week-and walked away, their eyes and voices filled with a frantic, almost desperate, hope, that "YGS100 is almost here, he must be almost done, and then, we'll be free."

We'll live off that hope, that faint light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know how much longer we can wait, but I do know this; whether or not YGS100 ever gets uploaded, whenever it does, we're all clinging on for dear life onto that one shred of hope. Freedom.
