I love Angry Birds. It is my #1 app on the phone. Well, maybe not the best. Let me tell you why:
I was checking my phone, and I saw that there was a new version of Angry Birds available for free. I felt excited! The title was called "Angry Birds: Ben's Revenge." Weird name for a game, since Ben was a Zelda character and was owned by Nintendo, but I did not care. I thought it would be like the other Angry Birds games, Birds vs Pigs. However, I was dead wrong.
When I got on the game, and it had skipped right to the title screen. For some reason, it had the Chrome logo, and it had the AB Seasons Halloween 2011 theme. I ignored that. When I clicked Play, it turned white for second, and the loading screen was inverted. It skipped to the Poached Eggs cutscene. However, it was muted, White and Blue were missing in the beginning, but reappeared later in the cutscene...
Though, things were less than kosher. White's eyes were gone and she was eggless, Blue was closing his eyes looking worried, and Ben's face was with the pigs. Wait, Ben? Oh, remember when I said Ben was in the title? Well he is the main enemy too.
When it got to the pigs, it went back to Ben. It zoomed to his face, and then inverted with a static sound effect. It got to the level selection from Summer Pignic, but it was in Black and White. Instead of the cheerful tune of the AB game, It played the piano version of the theme. I clicked 1, and like in Summer Pignic, butterflies popped out, but in Black and White. This definitely freaked me out...
The loading screen was also distorted. It had Ben's inverted face, and after Loading: 1%, it said Loading: 666%. Why? When it got to the level, it was the first Poached Eggs level, except that the background music was one of the Halloween BGM tracks. When their beginning cheer was done, it went to TV Static for about 2 seconds. After that, the whole level was inverted.The 3rd Red Bird looked sick, and then died. After that, the TV static sound went on again, and once more, Ben's inverted face showed. It went black. Then a message popped up saying: "1/2 complete, one more completed and you get a surprise!"
A surprise?
It showed the same loading screen from before, but when it finished, it was on the final level. Ben was the boss in the level, contained in stone crates. That was never in the series, except in Red Planet in AB Space, which was counted as lava. Not to kill the birds, but in this game, it went static as soon as your bird got to the fire, and it also showed the so-called surprise... I'll get to that later. The bird that was included was only a Black Bird who's eyes were inverted, like I've said so many times in this story.
That scared me... Also the quality was bad for that bird. It zoomed up and the Bird went on itself. O.K, Now this was the scariest moment I witnessed from the event. The surprise was a picture of a Red Bird in black and white with no eyes with a caption saying Ben's catchphrase, which was "You shouldn't have done that." It had a scream sound effect. After the photo showed, It faded to Ben's face, too bright and uninverted. The screen went black.
The game had ended.
