Thunder rumbles outside his home, a blue house with powerful Tympole guarding the door. A steady electric sound beats slowly, accompanied by the slow sloshing of water. The original Lavender Town theme plays silently on a radio in a much less scary way – like something you'd expect more from a circus than the home of Cress's older brother. Inside his establishment, the owner of the house, named Cunami, takes out a Master Ball, which is a black shade of greenish-purple and redish-pink in the light of the moon.
"Come out, Hypno. It is time." Cunami holds up the unusually colored device of a Pokeball variation, and a Hypno comes out of it in less than a nanosecond.
Cunami stays silent for several seconds, then directs his hand towards a door behind him, saying, "It is time for you, too." The door slowly opens, revealing a Dewott and an Emolga inside the closet the door leads to. They come out with irritated looks on their faces.
"Hypno, do your thing." Hypno slowly rocks his watch. The Dewott's eyes turn red. Once the Hypno rotates, the Emolga's eyes turn red as well. Cunami smiles at the eyes of the hypnotized Pokemon. "Enter the machine," he says as he points to an oversized record player. The hypnotized Pokemon follow his orders. Cunami then puts TM45 on the record player. The record player starts almost immediately.
Once the record is over, the record player automatically turns off. "Exit." The hypnotized Pokemon come out. Cunami smiles again and says, "Use Attract on each other." The Emolga and Dewott summon floating hearts and send them towards each other. A pink aura makes sight of the two impossible. After 20 long minutes, the aura fades, and both Pokemon are revealed to be infatuated. Between them are many Pokemon eggs. The Pokemon had bred out of love. In fact, they were still making eggs.
Cunami smiles more and says, "Yes! I will soon have a Pokemon army of water and electricity. The water they'll produce will heighten the power of the sparks. When they all learn Water Gun, I shall defeat almost every new trainer!" He pauses, then says, "But 'almost every new trainer' is not enough for me. I want to defeat all trainers - new, old, and everyone in between." He walks out of the room. A minute later, two of the Pokemon eggs hatch. The baby Pokemon that come out of them look as expected: combinations of Emolga and Oshawott. One says "Emoshawotta!". The other uses Water Gun upwards. The electrified water produced from the move goes through the roof, and hits a wild, flying Tranquil. The Tranquil falls onto the roof of Cunami's house, fainted and wet, surrounded with AC and DC sparks.
