Katara and Sokka were supa' surprised, yo. So surprised, that in fact, I am now sober again. The octopus used its' tentacles to trap Katara and Sokka, and...oh god...undress them? This was super disturbing, even more than the other scene. The octopus started to "do" Sokka and Katara.

"MMPH! HMRPRPHRRRRMMHRRRPH!" cried Sokka as the tentacle penetrated him in the wrong places.
