Borderlands 2

It was just a normal afternoon, when I saw that one of my favorite games—Borderlands, had a sequel coming to Steam- "Borderlands 2 Pre-orders available"

So naturally I got exited and bought it, the suspense was probably the worst part, but finally September 18 rolled around, and the Midnight Release happened.

The game was working fine for an hour or two, then by 2:00 AM approx., the game crashed. I thought this was normal, being the first few hours of release. So I shut it off for the night and went to bed, I slept a bit longer than usual, so I turned on my PC, and there was a new Wallpaper of the character I chose, Salvador.

Originally, the wallpaper I had was just a screenshot of the games menu, with Salvador looking at the user, but Salvador was missing, and the world was black almost, only his gun visible. I was quite shocked by this, perhaps my brother tried to scare me by removing Salvador completely from the image?

No, this was too good of a crop for my brothers work. I daringly proceeded to start Borderlands 2, but I was checking the DLC folder, and instead of "Borderlands 2 - Premier Edition!" it just stated "Border".

I was surprised that my Premier edition was completely gone. I was feeling very angry, having spent time the previous night to get the Pre Order bonus working, and to see its just gone. So I continued and started up the game, unfortunately.

Instead of the usual intro such as "Gearbox" and "Nvidia", it just said "BORDERLANDS 2" "PRESS ENTER", in a cheap MSpaint like text. So I proceeded, but I was shocked to see my menu screen with Salvador (My only character at the time) completely missing along with the backdrop of Pandora. The music at the menu screen was also playing in reverse and was quite eery.

Starting it up, instead of a gun on the loading screen, there was just a Bandit (A Psycho), covered in blood lying there, and the tip just repeated one tip over and over.

"Use the Catch-A-Ride system! Use the Catch-A-Ride system! Use the Catch-A-Ride system!", so I took the hint, and as my character loaded (sort of), I saw the Catch-A-Ride system in the distance, so I ran to it.

I used Bandicam to record it, upon entering the new location, my Bandicam experienced a "problem" and I shut it off, I tried to send an error report but it just froze and wouldn't respond, by this time my game had loaded, and the black world had gone away finally, but I was not in the normal world, anymore- I was in a bandit encampment that looked like one from the Arid Badlands in the original game, strangely enough I was in a Wintery scenario, yet it was sandy.

Every bandit was dead already, and there was a character mimicking my level and had all my guns, his name was Salvador as well, but his features were extremely deformed, frightening to look at, all I could see was a blood-stained shirt, and he just had eye sockets, and blood smeared across his face. He was screaming constantly, and slowly crept up to me, then I saw I was able to press "E" and communicate with him, his screams were loud and very frighting, but when I clicked the "E" button, everything in my game had froze but him, he was just standing there, shrieking. I pulled the plug from my PC disregarding any damage I might do to my PC itself and ran out of my room.

The next day, I awoke in pain, headache, coughing, my lungs hurt. I decided to see if my Borderlands 2 was still working at all, so I plugged my computer back in and turned on the game. Everything seemed normal aside from the fact my characters gun on his back was missing, strange due to the fact its a top-tier weapon just shown on the Menu screen. So I pressed continue, and started in Sanctuary (The main town in the game), I went to hand in a new mission in my log that had no description, it just sent me to a random civilian at a dead end, on my way there the usual chummy guards and denizens would not communicate to me if I tried, they'd just grunt at me or walk away. The civilian with the mission was normal, sending pre-destined text such as "Hey.", or "We'll get Handsome Jack for this.", but when I handed in the Mission.

I heard a screech from behind me and my game crashed, saying "Borderlands2 . exe has crashed." but I couldn't tab out, just stare at my now-featureless character. The game had suddenly started to work again, but things were disappearing, buildings, people, everything but weapons and select parts of the map; like last time. My character appeared once more, but all I heard was shrieking, coming from the Black Market building, the door was pried open, strange due to the fact that only the doors seeing hole opens.

And inside lied the other three vault hunters, and the original team all decaying on the wall, like they had been dead for years. The now demonic-looking Salvador copy slowly walk towards me, and upon touching my character I heard a snap sound and my PC turned off. It wouldn't turn on until around 7:06 PM, and the game was gone, but I had my money refunded in my Steam Wallet.

The next day my PC had a new Shortcut, "B2". Upon starting it, it brought me to this screen, minus the gearbox/nVidia logos. I had no menu, just to start the game. I was quite shocked as I didn't even have the game anymore. It was hard to play it, so I tried to listen to music to Desensitize myself, it didn't work very well. I would be lying if I said the game started out normally, but aside from not seeing were I'm going, the mechanics worked fine.

I was quite shocked when my Bandicam experienced the same problem as last time, then the screaming and shrieking started up again. I was scared from this, because I could feel the presence of something. Else. I was unable to look away, something was keeping me bound to the game, I had to find what was haunting me, in a sense.

It was desensitizing to know I was in Sanctuary finally, but I could still sense it nearby. I fired my gun only to hear more screaming, he was nearby, and I hit him, my character died instantly, not even able to get a second wind. My PC shut off, and was unable to boot for three days. And when it finally started working, Borderlands was gone, and I had no intent to try and find it again.
