The Original Thought

You wake up, you see the sun's light and it shines on your face. You feel very warm, but your hands say otherwise. Something must be different about them.

You try to wash them in warm water, but that doesn't work. You then remember last night. You were watching your favorite show while lying on your bed, but a power outage came in and everything went black. A sudden illumination of some sort filled the room, a torch.

You live alone; how is that possible? You tried to get closer to the light. You see a man, his eyes had no pupils, with an ear to ear grin. He grabbed you and burned your hands. He then held the torch closer to your face and he disappeared. After you scream for help, you realize that your hands are in no pain.

You light a candle. Yet, as he returns, your hands freeze as if having a frostbite, he tries to stab you and both of your are in a hold. Power is returned and the sinister person disappears for the rest of the night, your hands are warm once more. Now remembering that, your hands are cold. What could you be feeling as the cold air rushes through your neck?

Continuation

It was just the breeze after all. You get to a doctor, for you feel your hands. Yet you feel uneasy. The doctor mentions a certain experimental surgery which can make your hands look as good as new. Even though you're unsure, you agree, seeing as your hands will become a problem eventually.

A new night comes and your fear grows with every passing second. You realize that your hand's senses are amplified to a degree that any heat you feel will be hotter in your hands and any chill will be freezing for your hands. You lay in your bed, thinking when the sinister person will reappear. Your hands; it feels as though you have a frostbite.

The man never appears. In the corner of your eye, you see something unusual in your home. Since your bathroom is right next to your bedroom, you see the bathroom mirror while you lie in your bed. The mirror is wrapped by a fog due to the faucet running. You check the bathroom, you turn off the faucet. When you tried to clear the mirror with your sleeve, a horribly scarred face appears suddenly on the mirror, replacing your face. You are startled and terrified, and you move out of the room quickly. Your hands are even worse than before. Your night ends without any sleep.

You will now have the surgery. He does the normal procedure, drugging you, calming you down, machine-check. Just before he begins, the surgeon unmasks himself.

You see a familiar grin.
