Daisy.WAD
One day I was scrolling through the Internet Archive to look for Doom WADs to play. After playing the racist shitfest that was Moon Man I already wasn't too sure about randomly playing more WADs. Then I randomly saw a text on my phone sending me a link. The link directed me to a sketchy website which just had a download link. Curiosity got the best of me so I got my old computer that I was going to get rid of and went on the website. The download link was a Doom WAD so I booted up my copy of Doom and played the WAD. Little did I know, this would be a huge mistake.
The Experience
When I booted up the game a loud beeping noise blasted through my headphones. I jumped and quickly muted my computer. I pressed start to see if there was any other changes when I chose a new game there was only one mission simply titled "Hellfire". I thought this was just because of the fact that the creator didn't want to change anything else. When I chose the mission I saw the ending cutscene where Daisy dies but instead of her head being on a spike it just repeated the first part of the cutscene with the music looping. Then when I saw that the loop of the first half was over instead of Daisy's head being on a spike she was just staring at me. I thought it was weird for a WAD with an episode called "Hellfire" to be less violent than the actual game. But then Daisy twisted into a humanoid demon with red eyes and white fur while loud sounds of chanting and screaming blasted through my headphones out of nowhere. As if I wasn't scared enough every single source of light in my house broke so I was just playing the game in complete darkness.
I assumed the power went out so I walked away only to hear the sound of a cacodemon play through my computer's speakers. I thought this was weird due to the fact that my headphones were plugged in and how every single electronic in my house was out but the computer was still working. I sat down and played the WAD only to realize something was seriously wrong. First of all, Doom Guy's health was at zero but I was still able to control him. Secondly, there was no music but instead the chanting and screaming I heard when Daisy distorted into a demon, And finally every single enemy was the humanoid version of Daisy besides a bunch of cacodemons. I tried to kill them all with the default gun but I failed. But oddly enough Doom Guy seemed way more stronger then usual with him being able to take more then twice as much damage in the normal game. When Doomy Guy's health reached -666 he ended up dying. I saw where this was going with it obviously being made by an edgy teen who wanted to scare somebody and that the lights going out was just a coincidence. But then I realized that wouldn't explain the computer working.
Instead of Doom Guy falling to the floor the screen slowly faded into black. Then an inverted image of a man with a mutilated eye faded on to the screen. I was extremely disturbed because I was always uneasy around inverted images. Then I heard whispers, I couldn't make out what they were saying though. Then the screen cut to a man looking down with white skin. The man's head slowly looked up and smiled. Then I heard the laugh of a child. I didn't think this was anything to be worried about until I realized my volume was off.
The Consequences
As soon as I realized something or someone was in the house my screen cut to a LiveLeak video of a cult burning down a house. I was horrified to see such brutal and disturbing things. Then I realized that the screams and chants were from this video. Who the hell would be so twisted to the point they use audio of real people suffering for a shitty Doom WAD?!
As I was terrified by the disgusting video I remembered there was something inside my house. I quickly grabbed a flashlight but I heard something run outside the door. I ran outside in order to see what was inside the house. I saw a shadow with a bunny mask while singing in a raspy voice. I tried to run outside but I felt something touch my leg. The demon's mask has fallen off, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth and eyes that are nothing but the color read with completely white pupils.
I bit the cryptid's arm, attempting to be free. The demon screamed in agony as I ran into my house. I locked the doors only to realize my house became nothing but a hellhole. The lights were completely red and kept flickering, black ink leaked from the ceiling, eyes were on the wall as they stared into my soul, a broken music box began playing as a broken radio sang along with it. I ran upstairs only to be attracted by a loud glitching sound. I ran towards the sound only to see it was coming from my old computer. Red text screamed at me to continue playing the WAD, It seemed like I had no other choice so I agreed.
It started with me fighting the Icon Of Sin. I was confused because this was a WAD of the first Doom game, but this was not a good time to start asking questions. The screen kept glitching as I heard loud screaming noises blast out of my speakers. The WAD must have been controlling my computer because I didn't remember turning the volume on. When I tried to mute my computer, a stinging pain affected my eyes. Everything around me became completely red besides the screen and I began hallucinating of Daisy being in the corner of the room screaming in agony. When I beat the Icon and when I did an image with the Icon staring at me while saying "You're nothing" came on the screen. Then it almost seemed like the image was stabbed as it screamed in agony, and when it did it was like nothing changed at all.
The Conclusion
The lights stopped flashing and they became there normal color, The ink became vapor, the eyes disappeared from the walls, My vision became normal, The music box stopped and so did the radio. I saw the demon melt into a puddle outside my house as it screamed in agony. I was overjoyed to know that I would not have to deal with this anymore. An image on my computer showed up. It seemed to be a broken building with the words "Thank you." in black text. I then realized that the house was from the video which the audio came from. I then realized that the game was probably haunted by the souls of the people who died in the fire and I freed them.
The next week I went into my local waste storing facility to throw out my old computer. I then carried my computer and carelessly threw it inside the electronics section, breaking the screen. When I did I saw the cryptid stare at me, looking as if it was betrayed on the shattered screen. Then it's face slowly melted as it screamed revealing purple flesh that was later consumed by pixelated maggots. I ran away into my car in case the cryptid randomly came back to life. While driving I was glad to know that I would not get bothered by anything on the WAD again.
