I drank some coffee today
to see if I still feel
I focus on the grains
the only thing that's real
The coffee maker burns a hole
the old familiar drink
try to spill it down the drain
but I remember everything
What have I become?
My Starbucks friend
Everyone I know goes to Dunkin Donuts, in the end
And Cymbal could have it all
my empire of coffee
I will let you down
I will make you coffee
I wear this crown of grains
upon my Starbucks CEO chair
Full of broken thoughts
I can not repair
Beneath the stains of caffeine
the tastes will disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here
What have I become?
