Fortresscraft: Creepy Glitches

Hey, I was wandering around the Fortresscraft fourms when I found a user named Xcalabur. He had made no contributions to the site, save one blog with 5 entries. The following is a cop/paste of all the entries. Though it does not say it is a creepy pasta, I deem it to be so as it made me never want to play Fortresscraft again, but I'm also easily scared.

The start of this crap - 26 July 2011

Okay, so this is not going to be perfect. It will be riddled with errors in spelling as well as grammar, but I will keep that to a minimum. So I'll type as much as I can each day. I'm not sure if anyone will really read this, I just need to get it out there.

Alright, so this is how it started. I was playing some Fortresscraft at night. Actually it was morning. Around 3 AM I was fiddling with my new USB keyboard. I was doing stuff like making snow blocks, matrix cubes, or air fill. Ya know, just some fun stuff. So anyway, I tried to spawn water, but it didn't work. I got a message saying it was risky then some error thing. Anyway, I though I'd try my luck with relics. Ya know, use F1 to make everything invisable. I had just reset my world so I had no relics yet. Anyway, I found jetpack, jumpboots, and nightvison really fast. Like, in 2 minutes. They were all near the top. I deffinatly recommend trying this, much faster than the see-through block glitch. (place a block over your head and you can see through the world on the X axis).

This is when I found the black smoke relic. It's a cool little toy, yeah. You can use it in the machinima menu. It turns you into a floating black orb with two beaty red eyes. So yeah, I didn't really like the message it gave me when I got it. It read somthing like "BLACK SMOKE. No one can see you at all, except for your eyes". Somthing about this was... off settling. I activated it and flew aroudn with jet back for a bit. Now, I don't know if this next part was a glitch or I was just sleep deprived, but I herd a freaky sound. A low growl, not liek when you find the relic. It was at night so, ya know, it could have been part of the music. Only it was the only sound. No crickets chirping, nothing. I figured it was the Black Smoke relic, so I turned it off. The sound lingerd. I muted my tv and that made it go away. I was horribly tired, it was 3AM and I had just gotten a new kitten so I could have been imagening it, but it seemed so real. It just gave me chills. Please do not dismiss this as some crappy joke, this actually happend.

So anyway, after that I went to sleep. I had a nightmare about the smoke monster you turn into just destroying my fortresscraft world. Nothign scary, but I just didn't like it. I mean, it was my old world, with all the mines I made, the houses I built, the towers I constructed. All of it just destroyed. Probly my mind punishing me for resetting my world.

Okay, one last thing. Just today I was making a house and it had spanded two days in the game before I got the walls and ceiling up for both stories. So anyway, it was night in the game and I was pleased the growling wasn't there anymore. Of course, I had gotten 3 hours of sleep so again this could just be in my mind, but I swear that the red eyes of the Smoke Monster you turn into with the relic were staring at em in the shadows of the house I built. I started putting in as many windows as I could, getting light inside. The eyes were gone now, but I just felt so off. It was like they were always going to be behind me. So anyway, that's all for now. I'll update on any new glitched with the relics or sound.

Update for day one. - 26 July 2011

So, I went back to my game to play some more. It was really weird. Everything was the yellow and green loading blocks (grus right?). The sound was off but my speakers where clealry on. It was so eerie quiet. I moved from the spawn and it gave me to fail screen ("we're sorry we acidently the whole xbox" still funny). The poor grammar gave me something to laugh at. But I cna't help but think about that unformed world. Deathly silent and full off loading. The walls of the pawn were even matrix cubes.

Day Two - 27 July 2011

Alright, so you may have noticed I added some tags. I just did that to try and spread this out a little. IS anyone else getting these glitches? Anybody? Well, whatever. I might be the only one. Maybe my file got corrupted or somthing, I don't know. I'm not tech smart. So anyway, it's around 2:30, I've been up for 3 hours now. I was playing earlier at around noon when some weird **** happend. So first, I was exploring some natrual caves in my world. Then I noticed one of the caves was very ellaborate, as if made by someone. I reilize why it looked like that, it's my old mine shaft I built in my prior world, the one I whipped. I geuss that not all of it got whipped, another glitch maybe? Well, I swear in the cave I saw thoes red eyes again. It's freaking me out now. I checked the map to see if anyone else was in my world, but it was empty. I think it was just from being tired. I haden't eaten yet and all, so maybe that. YEah, I'm just tired, or it's a glitch in the game.

Another glitched happened too. This one was normal at least. I deleted a bunch of blocks and some of them were randomly matrix cubes. It made a pretty cool patter, so I put gold blocks where they were. I'm thinking of making a giant chess board using gold and silver blocks, doesn't that sound cool? Thank you matrix-block glitch! So yeah, that's all for now.

Day Three - 28 July 2011

Hey again. I just got off Fortresscraft, it is currently 6:50 PM. So, I had went back into the house I had built to make the inside. Ya know, finishing what I had started a while ago. Then 3 people joined. They all explored my house until they realized they could make stuff too. It took me two day rotations to build that house's exterior and put in all the grass, and what do they do? They go and fill it with Easter eggs! It was ruined. Just absolutely ruined. I know I could have gotten rid of them, but there was so many. It wasn't worth the effort. So, I quit (hope they lost their relics) and made a new world. So, of course, my relics are gone too. All but one. Black Smoke is still there. This time I built outside, and I built something that would NOT get dark. I made a chess board. When I had finished I was making a lava moat around it for fun. I had token out all the rocks around it. It seemed fine, until I stepped in to place the lava. The blocks all came back as matrix cubes, then my screen went fuzzy and it said "You've been eaten by a grue." Just for fun, I looked it up on Wikipedia. Yeah, it seemed really creepy. A creature that lays in the shadows and waits to eat you. If you wander into darkness it gets you. How strange that they would name the data cubes after such a horrific thing huh? I mean, it's a happy game, right? So anyway as I was saying, I went back to the spawn and wandered around looking for the chessboard. I finished it and decided to built an Eye of Saron from Lord of the Rings. It came out looking pretty nice, I think I did a good job on the mountain side. I know that isn't really a glitch, but it's pretty cool none the less and I wanted to share what I made.

I just realized something. I mean, something other than I never published this post. So it's currently like 8PM or so. Anyway, I went back to Fortresscraft and since I read about the Grues I have been scared of darker areas of the map. But I ventured into one for the hell of it. Oh god, I saw a hell of a lot of matrix cubes and that DAMN SMOKE MONSTER. Then my screen went to the "you've been eaten by a grue" thingy. I respawned back in the same spot and died again. This is going past a fucking glitch, I'm thinking about redownloading the game to fix it, or just never playing it again. Sorry for the errors, this was written in a rush.

Day 4 - 29 July 2011

Okay, now this **** is really scaring me. Fist, I loaded the game and there was grues everywhere except for a path of solid matrix cubes. Being the adventurer type I followed it. Well, it lead on and on. I kept walking till I herd that eerie growl again. I realized it was night time. There was the same symphonic music and animal noises, but also that growl. And what's worse, the growl was coming from only my two back speakers, indicating that the sound was behind me. I turned only to see the two red eyes and black cloud. The smoke monster. I wanted to turn off my game, but I was too curious. I pulled up the command screen and was about to type "fill air 10 10 10" to see if it would get rid of some stuff, but I stopped. There was already writing in it, a command. "Fill Cats 1000 1 1". No error message after it, it actually said "okay". 1000 is an impossible number to use since it's too large. I've tried it many times.

I tried to enter my command, but I got a message saying "error, block 'air' is not found". I'm still new to this and thought maybe I should try snow blocks. Again, same error. I paused the game to check some fill commands on my Ipad. I noticed that the machinima option was glowing. I clicked it. The black smoke option was on, so I went out and looked at my third person. I was normal. Then the smoke monster started getting closer, the growl growing louder. So I finally turned off my xbox. I wont play that game again for a while. But I still have the feeling like that black smoke is following me. Every time I turn around I swear for a split second I see it's eyes. This thing has driven my crazy. I swear I hear that growling whenever I'm in the dark. Hell, I was playing Halo Reach and I herd the growl when I was forging with some dark FXs on. Whatever the **** was wrong with my game, be it a ghost or a glitch, it has made me paranoid.
