Gaming Overkill
It was November 24 of 2012. I was just finished listening to some creepypasta on YouTube. My father told me to go to a game store with him. Since I loved games so much I went there. As I got there it was like heaven for me. When I looked around I saw old games in the actual package. I looked at a copy of Shining Force in the case sealed too.
I wanted it so bad so I asked my father if I could have it. He also wanted it so we went to buy it and the clerk said we can also get a copy of Shining Force for the GBA too. The clerk said they were brand new. So we them and went home to play it. My father went to the living room to play his game as I went to my room to play Shining force on my Genesis. I take the seal off the case and open it. I looked at the instructions inside and see an unfamiliar paper inside. I open it up and read it.
It said, "Thank you now don't try to play this game."
I was confused to see this but it's a game. I thought this might be like Sonic . exe or even BEN. I said screw it and started this game up. It started like the same. After some battles the enemies started to develop wounds? My characters started to show wounds except my main guy which I called Omega. It got worse and worse after each battle.
The odd thing is that the wounded enemies deal more damage then before. When they died it the enemy would collapsed and die. When I finally made it to the marionette boss which is a pain in the ass. When the battle started the enemies weren't there except the Marionette and the an another boss named Marionette Overkill. It was stronger then the marionette and did different spells like Bolt2 and Fire4. Even though it took one shot from Gort (The strongest Playable character next to Zylo.) which was promoted to GLDR which brought him down to level 1.
After that the game continued but when I got to a town where this Birdgirl named Amon tells you to help her but she said turn back or you'll end up like Balboroy. I didn't care what happened because of Gort. As I inspected the town there was no one there. I got to the church and some villagers followed me. As I got to Balboroy the mysterious villagers started to change into zombies like they were supposed to. But they instead died after transformation. I was puzzled but kept on going.
When Chapter 3 started shit got real.
The town was empty and the place was tattered in blood. I went to the mayor and he said to turn off the game. I thought I was crazy but I continued going on. I got the lunar dew and opened the Zylo cell. Zylo started to chase me so I ran away to the cave where I got the lunar dew sad even though it was a dead end. He snarled and brutally killed Omega.
I was a little scared so then turned off the game. I then heard a noise from the TV and was surprised because I turned off the TV. I turned around to see a figure come out of the TV. It was Wolf-like and it looked at me. I was surprisingly not scared for some odd reason. It flashed it's claws and jumped back into the TV before saying:
"You've unlocked you're worst nightmare."
The next morning I tried to play the game and it acted normal but then a voice came from the game and said, "Hello."
I didn't say anything to see if it was pre-recorded. It then yelled at me to say something. I then just said Hi and it responded. I was amazed about this. I asked "who are you" it replied "Zylo" when I asked are you real I got a weird answer.
It said, "Maybe because you believe in me I exist."
I was scared. After a while of conversations Zylo said he was tired. Trust me I don't get it either. I said OK I'll see you later.
He replied, "I'll see you in you're Dreams."
I kept having nightmares about Zylo killing me or anyone in my family. In my dreams though he said like every time:
"It's your fault for unlocking your true potential."
