Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation Alternate Ending

Growing up, I was a huge fan of Hotel Transylvania, and I was excited that it had a series too. However, there was once incident that scarred my brain for life. I was at a DVD shop that sold movies and TV shows in DVD form. When I got there, I saw a huge box which read "Hotel Transylvania: The Complete Collection". I grabbed it and went up to the cashier. When I was about to grab my wallet, the cashier suddenly blurted out "Please! Take it! Take it! It's all yours! Watch if you dare!". I was confused, but I happily purchased it and skipped to my car.

Later, I opened the box. It contained all three Hotel Transylvania movies, a Season 1 DVD of Hotel Transylvania: The Series, a Dracula costume, and plushies of Wayne, Wanda, Mavis, Jonathan, and Winnie. However, the DVD case of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation was weird. It had Dracula running away from the Kraken with Dennis in his hands. "DON'T WATCH" was at the top in a dripping font. When I opened it, the DVD was a DVD you record things on and "HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 ALTERNATE" was written on it in red marker. I popped it into the DVD player and when I was about to get my remote, it went on all by itself.

The menu was just a black screen with the title "Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation". I could barely see real human teeth in the background and the song "I See Love" was off-key and distorted. There were three options: Play, Scene Selection, Special Features, and Why?. I pressed "Play".

The movie began like the original movie did, with Dracula and his friends fighting Van Helsing on the train, and then a montage of Van Helsing trying to kill Dracula and failing every time. Once in a while, the scene would suddenly freeze and then resume. Throughout the movie, I noticed there were violent scenes added. For example, there was one part in the scene where Tinkles crashed the wedding that had Tinkles licking and then eating one of the wedding goers. Blood even filled his mouth. Events like this started going on with the wolf pups tearing the reverse merman in the Kids' Club to shreds, Ericka firing a torpedo stake at the shark that Dracula hypnotized, Blobby getting cut into pieces by the cruise ship's propellor, one of Van Helsing's darts gouging Wayne in the eye, and the Kraken crushing some monsters with his tentacles.

What was truly messed up was Ericka's death. After the DJ battle scene, Van Helsing started to dance along and fall off his DJ table. If you saw the movie, you'd probably remember Dracula saving him at the last moment. That's not what happened here. Dracula just let Van Helsing fall.

"Drac, save him!" Ericka cried out.

"Why should I save him?" Dracula said "He nearly killed me and my friends, and since you're his granddaughter, I am not in love with you anymore!"

He used his powers to throw Ericka onto the DJ table where Van Helsing was. She quickly held onto the ledge, but Dracula teleported himself there. He pulled two kitchen knives out of his pockets and stabbed Ericka's hands as she let out a gut-wrenching scream. All of the monsters including Jonathan let out a surprised gasp.

"Dad, stop it!" Mavis called out.

I hugged my plushies of Wayne, Wanda, Mavis, Jonathan, and Winnie as I saw what happened next. Dracula moved his head closer to Ericka's face.

"Long live the queen!" he said, seemingly imitating Scar from The Lion King.

Dracula removed the knives from Ericka's hands and kicked her in the face, causing blood to spurt out of her nose. The scene then turned black and white with "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap playing as Ericka started to fall. The weird part was that her scream was Mufasa's scream from the 2019 reboot of The Lion King. She fell to the ground with a loud crunch noise and a pool of blood started to form underneath her. The scene went back to color at this moment. Dracula then snapped his fingers and all of the monsters' eyes turned red, even Mavis, Dennis, Winnie, Frank, Eunice, Wayne, Wanda (which surprised me that they were both there despite Van Helsing locking them in a closet), Murray, Griffin, Crystal, Vlad, Sunny, Blobby, his son, his puppy, and Tinkles.

"Eat her!" he called out in a demonic voice.

The monsters looked down at Ericka, who was cowering in fear.

"I'm sorry!" she cried out weakly.

Mavis did the same roar she did at the ticket agent in Hotel Transylvania 2 and all of the monsters started mauling Ericka, who let out blood-curdling screams and started to cry for help. Jonathan was looking down from a broken platform, seeing the massacre happen below. The scariest thing was that Dracula was laughing evilly with glowing red eyes. The scene then cut to static and black. Ericka's screams could still be heard. I also saw a black figure with sharp teeth flashing and moving closer to the screen. It looked like....Barney the Dinosaur? Then it changed to dark red with a text reading "I AM GOD!".

Once it went back to the movie, I couldn't believe what I saw. It was a mangled and bloody Ericka. There were holes in her head, her face was peeled off and laid next to her, one of her eyes was missing, her suit had rips and tears, her hair was stained red with blood, her jaw was hanging loose and was about to fall off, her torso was ripped to fleshy shreds, her stomach was ripped open and her entrails were piled on top of her, and her legs were gone. One of her arms was torn to pieces and was lying next to her and the other was twisted at an unnatural angle with a piece of bone sticking out. She was laying in a pool of blood with small traces of guts. It then cuts to black, and there were no credits.

After that, I immediately destroyed the tape by snapping it in half and throwing it away, so nobody else could find this demented movie. I kept the DVD's cover in my basement to remind me that what I experienced was real. Maybe I shouldn't have rented that box. If you find it, don't watch the movie inside. Also, I still don't know why in the menu, the last option was "Why?".
