Running down a dark alley way, a person in a black coat runs, only to reach a dead end. In a quick whip, they turn their head, their face filled with terror and fear, "Why would you do this? Please, don't-". Their voice is suddenly cut off, as a girl, no older then 14, giggles maniacally, and a quick scream of pain is heard. The girl pulls out the scalpel from the victims throat and licks the blood off. She turns as her crimson red eyes sparkle in the darkness.

I wake up in on my living room floor. Baffled, I sit up, "How did I get here..? I could've sworn I fell asleep on my.. bed..?" I looked over at the blood on my shirt and the taste of iron in my mouth. "Oh no, she did it again." I said, standing up and going to the bathroom. I jumped into the shower and begun trying to recall last nights events. Once finished, I went to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl of cereal.

I sat down in front of the television and turned it on, the channel was set on the news. "Late breaking news, another victim added to the string of murders. A man, 23, was found in an empty alley with the same injuries as the other victims, a small stab in the throat. The death was not of blood loss, but something autopsy is yet to figure out. No fingerprints at the scene of the crime either. More infor-" I sighed and changed the channel to watch some anime, I put the spoon down in my bowl and grumbled a bit, "Again? Haven't you had enough..?" In answer to my question, I slouched over, gripping the carpet as a change of color in one of my eyes occurred, my usually happy voice was now shrouded in evil and coldness. "Well.. I can't help it, you mortals are just so easy to hunt down. You don't even try to fight back, and if you do, it's hardly able to save your life, can't even fight your way out of a paperbag." She laughed a wretched, dark laugh. My voice shifted again to my normal voice and I sighed, "You'll get caught you know." Voice shift. "I've-- wait-- we have been doing this for six months already, and I'm not planning on getting caught anytime soon."

The door sounded with a click as someone opened the door, I turned quickly to see my mother. "Oh, you're awake already." She smiled as she set down the groceries. I blinked, my eyes back to their normal hazel color. "Yeah.. I slept too much today." I rubbed the back of my head and smiled a bit. "Hm, well, it seems you've already eaten, so I'll be in my office if you need me." She gave me a slight wave as she walked away. I let out a sigh of relief, So this is what it's like to live with a demon.

So, I guess I should explain. I will not give my real name, but people call me Maka. I've never really been a 'normal' child. I've always been hurt or picked on. Then I met her. Her name, is Ikari Kyougi. *Let me explain.* What? No! *It's my story * By the way, she types too, but to make it easier to distinguish, she types the little stars.* Yeah, yeah, yeah, just let me type.* Fine fine. *Okay, so, as Maka was saying, my name is Ikari Kyougi. And just to put it bluntly, I am a demon. My spirit was sent to the underworld as you mortals know as 'hell'. The underworld isn't ruled by who you know as 'Lucifer'. No no, we created that as a cover. In my millennium there I climbed up the ranks and became what technically counts as the 'princess'. But that term sounds so girly. Anyways, in my quest and hunger for power, I tried to defeat the ruler to become the ruler of the underworld. I almost succeeded but they caught me. As a punishment, I was banished from the underworld and released into the human world on exactly July 22, 1997. Which is my dear Maka's birthday here. I was transferred into her as a.. second personality.* Ok ok, my turn. She didn't become active until I was approximately 5 years old, but not as much as today. She steadily became more and more aggressive, which escalated as she encountered more and more what I encountered. Heh.. guess you can even say she's being protective. *I've already explained!* Oh yes, she claims she wants my body to get revenge for what was done to her.

She wasn't able to gain control of my body before. She used to be just a voice in my head until I turned 11, when I was taken of some pills for my ADHD. I think it was just coincidence. Or maybe those pills helped her stay under control. Anywho, I used to be able to keep my anger very well under control, taking the beatings that were given to me just by crying myself to sleep. * That's the wussy's way of dealing with shit.* Which brings me to my next topic, being able to control my body, whenever I encountered one of the situations, whether it was getting beaten or yelled at, Ikari flares out. Ikari's personality is quite different then mine. * Yes, Maka is usually cheerful, happy, which makes me sick. Couldn't hurt a fly.* While Ikari is cruel, and doesn't watch what she says. She speaks her mind and doesn't think twice about attacking. * Until you get in my way.* She lashes out, which I have to control. When she does come out, I still have some will left, so I stop her when she's going to hurt someone. Oh, she doesn't like to be mistaken as me when she switches, so she changes the color of pigments in my eyes to a crimson red. I believe that's all you need to know about her.

My day continued on as normal, I left for school, and sat in each class, bored out of my mind. I was glad it was Friday. Ikari kept under control, just a voice in my head as I listened to the murmur of my teachers giving lessons. In the locker room in PE, as I was changing out, I overheard some girls talking. "Did you hear about that recent murder?" The first girl told the second girl, "Yeah, really scary!" She gasped, "What if it's a vampire?!" I could hear Ikari's laughter in my head, 'Pitiful mortals.. they're so stupid, it sickens me.' I shook my head and finished dressing out. They started up again, "It's dangerous to walk around alone at night with a psycho murderer on the loose!" "Yeah, it's safer to walk with a buddy, we should walk together when we go shopping tod-" I drowned out the rest of the dribble, thinking it as not important. I ignored it and walked out of the locker room. Ikari was unusually quiet, maybe she's planning something. I just put it off as nothing and go on.

I arrived home to a note by my mother, "Left some money for you, you've been studying hard, go out and have fun. Love, Mom" I smiled at the little note and pocketed the cash. I think I'll go out and watch a movie. I went upstairs and took an hour nap. Not like I could sleep anymore, my sleep was plagued with horrendous visions most which I couldn't even make out. I woke up with a start and sat up in my bed, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. I turn my head to my alarm clock; 5 o' clock. I get out of bed, pushing the visions to the back of my head.

Over the next thirty minutes I got ready, ate a quick snack and was out the door. Walking down the street, the visions starting gnawing at my curiosity. I wondered what it was, what it meant, and why did it start happening now? Deep in thought, I accidentally ran into a police officer, I fumbled to the ground from the shock. I shook my head and looked up at the hand outstretched towards me. "So sorry miss," He said as he pulled me up. I dusted myself off and fixed my hair. "You shouldn't be out this late you know. There's a killer on the loose." I walked forward a bit and sighed a bit, "I know," I replied as I walked away form the police officer and towards my destination. I looked back for a quick moment to see his face was filled with confusion and shock, "W-Well, be careful, and don't go down dark alleys." I turned back and rolled my eyes in response.

I arrived at the theaters, watched a quick flick and stopped for a bite to eat. By the time I walked out to the street, it was dark and not many people were on the streets. The downtown business buildings were dimly lit, cars wizzed down the road wanting to get back to their families on this Friday evening. I grumbled and walked, looking at the ground. Suddenly, I was shoved to the side, but I caught myself on a nearby wall. I looked up to see the two girls from school. The girls turned to look at me and shot a glare, "You shouldn't of been in our way." They whined together. I stood up and dusted myself off and bowed a bit, "W-Well.. I'm sorry, if I was in the way, but you don't own.. the.. sidewalk.." I responded shyly. They stopped walking and turned towards me. They glared at me and pushed me against the wall against. "Whatcha tryin' to say, huh?!" "Yeah, you think you're better than us?!" One slapped me across the face, as I fell to the ground in response. "Th-That's not what I meant--" I tried to explain, I was kicked in the stomach, "Get up!" They kept kicking me, over and over, for what seemed like an eternity but really was 5 minutes.

They finally stopped and gave a quick snort at me before turning and starting to walk away. Through the blood in my throat I managed to cough out, "You sh-sh-shouldn't have d-done that.." They looked back at me with smug looks on their faces, "Oh, what are you gunna do about it?" My bangs covered my eyes, a huge grin with blood on my teeth from the beatings, I stood up and one of my eyes shown a red in the street light I was under. The street light flickered, and my voice was darker, eviller, riddled with revenge. "You know," Ikari looked up and smiled sweetly, "There's a psycho on the loose~" She pulled out a scalpel from midair and let out a sickening laugh. The girls, fear on their faces, screamed and ran. At an inhuman speed, Ikari ran after them, appearing in front of them, "Peek-a-boo~!" She giggled watching the girls fall into her trap. The girls, like sheep being herded, ran into the alley as their last hope. They ran into a dead end, as one clawed at the wall as if it would crumble and offer them a mean of escape.

After tiring themselves out, nails bloodied, they looked at the shadow with red eyes approach them. One, in a haste, grabbed a pipe and prepared to fight for her life, as the other gave into her death and fell to her knees. The shadow emerged, smiling cheerfully, hands behind her back. "So girls, what will your choice be~?" The girl on the floor started to cry. The other clenched the pipe tightly and let out a scream, running towards Ikari. With all her strength, she brought down the pipe. In one swift movement, Ikari grabbed the pipe, and looked at the girl with her cold, crimson eyes. "Now now, play nice~" Ikari flung the girl against a wall and broke the pipe in half like it was a toothpick. Dropping one half of the pipe, she crumpled the end of the other to form a point and threw it at the girl. The pipe penetrated her throat, pinning her to the wall. She gurgled as a waterfall of red spewed from her mouth. Letting go of the final strand of life, the girl's body went limp, as the other girl let out a shrill screech for her dear friends life. Ikari turned and smirked a bit, "You could have saved her, but you, pitiful fool, feared more for your own life." She took a step closer as the girl scooted back trying to escape. As Ikari came closer, sirens began blaring and surrounded the alley. "We have you now, come out with your hands up!" Ikari let out a low growl and turned to the girl, who had her cell phone in hand and crying happily, "I'm going to live, I'm going to li--" Ikari quickly cut her off by shoving the scalpel in her throat and jumping up onto the roof tops, disappearing into the night.

"2 more added to the body count of the recent murders. Jennifer and Alondra, both 15, were found dead in an alley downtown. One was found on the wall, with a pipe impaled through her throat, the other with a scalpel through the throat. There were no fingerprints found on both the weapons. Police advise you to stay indoors after dar-" I shut of the television and rubbed my temples. My clothes from last night were in the wash. I wouldn't want mother to find out, she would yell at me about the stains. I finished the cake I was eating and went up to my room and laid down on my bed and turned towards my wall. I took out a scalpel and etched another line to the series of lines already scratched on there. I stared at the lines and sighed, "That makes eight." I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
