Imaginary friend

When I was a kid, I didn't exactly have any real friends. I was scared that people wouldn't like me and think that I'm "weird". I had an imaginary friend. She first showed up when I was about 6, when we moved to a new house.

Her name was Jenny and she was a lot like me. She was a teenager who was kind, didn't talk much, and was different from other people. She looked like a regular person. She had long brown hair and always wore a blue hoodie, shorts, and a beanie, but the only things that weren't normal about her, was that she had extremely pale skin, her eyes were blacked out, and her clothes had blood stains on them. Yet for some reason... I wasn't scared of her.

I would always set up the table for her, just for fun, she would always give me hugs to cheer me up whenever I was sad or scared and she would play games with me while my parents were busy or just didn't feel like it. It was almost like having an older sister. My Mom always asked why I did stuff like that. I respond by saying "it's for Jenny." Whenever I first said that, she asked who Jenny was, and I responded with "She's my friend." My Mom said that I had a really big imagination and that Jenny was some sort of imaginary friend I had, because neither of my parents could see her.

One night, my parents heard someone playing the song "bicycle built for two" on the old piano in the basement. They went down and asked me "where did you learn how to play piano?" I responded by saying "that wasn't me. That was Jenny. She told me she's really good at playing piano." They thought I was joking with them, like most kids do, and I was confused as to how they even heard it.

The day after, Jenny wasn't acting like her usual self. When I was walking down the street, we saw a strange man in a hoodie, and she looked angry, telling me "see that guy in the hoodie? I hate him." She actually wanted me to kill someone. It's like she has some sort of PTSD from him. But how is that possible if she's imaginary? Being the nice kid I was, I didn't kill him. Instead, I knocked him unconscious by throwing a rock at his head. Thankfully I got away before anyone could see me.

One day, When I was about 10, I was playing on my phone, and Jenny was watching me play. My parents were looking at the security cameras and in my room they saw me and a girl they've never seen before watching me. They were scared out of their minds and my mom went upstairs to my room and I was the only one in the room. She asked "Are you okay? I saw someone in here on the cameras." I said "Yeah. Jenny's just watching me play." My mom was confused and freaking out. When she went back downstairs, I was confused as to why she saw someone in my room. I thought she was just seeing things.

Ever since the piano and the guy in the hoodie, I began to think Jenny wasn't so imaginary. Maybe she was also the reason why my house had some power outages recently at the time. Even though she was still friendly, I became a tiny bit scared of her and confused about her.

Years passed, I'm now 16. I still see and talk to Jenny even after I told my parents why they saw and heard someone. We didn't move because well, she's friendly. The reason I told them is because a few years ago, I saw something on the street that shocked me. It was an old newspaper that had a photo of a girl that looked a lot like Jenny. It says she went missing back in 2009 and the photo had a shadow of what looked like someone in a hoodie that looked like they were about to kidnap her. It all made sense now.
