Is3dpl3ase.exe
It all started out like a regular day. you know go to work, have lunch and go back home to go on the PC. I booted up the PC and after waiting a couple of minutes for it to start up, I opened Google Chrome to check my Youtube messages, Facebook invites, you know the usual stuff. After checking some stuff, I switched on the television to watch some cartoons while waiting for some Youtube videos to be uploaded.
I saw some Spongebob Squarepants and since nothing else was on considering it was 2AM, I thought why not? the Spongebob episode that was showing was one of the first ones. The one where he tries to get employed at the Krusty Krab. I was halfway through the episode and the last word i heard Spongebob say was "Please!". My entire power grid went down. Since i lived away from the city there were hardly any lamp-posts outside so I could'nt see anything. While i was going down to check the power and try and turn on emergency reserve, I suddenly had an overwhelming urge of fear. I ran out of my house and noticed my neighbours lights were on so I knocked on there house, thankfully they let me in.
After about an hour of talking to them and drinking a couple of cups of coffee. I finally whacked up the courage to go back to my house. I unlocked the door and opened it slowly and hesitantly. The power was on???? I guess it was just my electricity provider testing some new hardware or something. I knew it was inevitable that my computer would be turned off with all of the uploading failed and i was unfortuantly right. I turned on the PC and i waited a couple of minutes with nothing to do. It finally booted up again but however something was wrong, very wrong.
My computer was using the Windows Classic theme with the plain blue background but the task bar where the start menu and programs was gone. I could also see a message box in the middle of the screen that displayed some chinese square characters with a title "is3dpl3ase.exe". I started worrying that a virus had gotten into my computer so i didnt click any of the provided buttons "Yes" or "No". I knew a friend who lived in china for a couple of years and since he was staying only down the road from where my house was. I hesitated to give him a call since it was very early. However this was'nt a laughing matter so I called him up. When he answered he sounded tired and pissed off. Probably because i called him at 3:17AM, i mean who would'nt?? I finally got him to get off his ass and walk to my house. After a very slow 5 minutes of waiting, he arrived with a quiet knock on the door. He arrived with a translation book as well, in case it was a different generation of the chinese language. Unfortuantly he could not translate it but the book could, my friend write down each word the book had translated successfully, well sort off.
My friend started to mumble the translated message, "Do you really want me to say please again??" I started to gasp however my friend did'nt really care and just thought this was just some bullshit virus. I stood there frozen while he left my house. I sat down in my PC chair and kept looking at the message box then switching to it translated to english. I then looked at the "Yes" or "No" options. I then had the most terrible feeling...
