Link's Suicide
As a child, the only thing I would ever play was the Legend of Zelda. Nowadays, all I can think of when I see a Zelda game is, why?
It all started one day after I sold my Wii for an Xbox 360. It was exciting to play Minecraft with my friends, but I quickly started missing Zelda, slashing away at Moblins and killing Ganondorf. One day, I got some money and went to Gamestop to buy a Wii.
Instead of buying Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword, I just got a points card and downloaded the originals. Yes, the original Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask.?
I started with the Legend of Zelda. Strangely, there was a save file called NO (I assume from the previous owner). When it started, I was brought to the cutsceen where Link sees Zelda being carried out of Hyrule Castle.
What? This was very odd. I reset my Wii and selected Zelda II. Oddly, the same thing happened, the file NO and the first cutsceen from Ocarina Of Time.
Again, I reset the Wii and selected A Link To The Past. Oh, guess what happened? Yeah, the file and cutsceen again. I reset the Wii, and tried to select Majora's Mask.
Unlike the other games, this one didn't work at all. So, I selected Ocarina of Time. The save files were NO, DON'T, and LINK. NO, DON'T, and LINK.
No, don't Link? Whatever. I started with the file NO. I was confused at what I saw. It was Young Link holding the Master Sword. Not in the Temple Of Time, but in the Kokiri Forest. The "Navi wants to talk" sound came. What Navi said really shook me.
"How could you leave Saria to rot?" ROT?!
I played Saria's Song and Navi didn't ask me if I wanted to talk to Saria. It just cut to the text box:
"Please...leave...me...alone."
Okay, the only thing I could think was, WHAT THE FUCK DOES ANY OF THIS MEAN?! I played the Minute Of Forest to reach Saria fast. I nearly screamed at what I saw. Saria's skin was a rotting brown, and her eyes were black. A red mark was in her abdomen. I walked up to Saria and a text box appeared saying:
"The Hero's wielded power has slain her."
Hero's wielded power? The Master Sword? Is that why Link had it? This was too much. I went for the power button.
Reaching the cord, a loud screech came from my TV, making me fly backward. On the screen was Link standing in Clock Town. All the NCPs had happy emotions. But Link, he looked depressed. He was frowning as if he saw someone die. Maybe he felt bad for killing Saria. A flashback took place. It showed Young Zelda, in a coffin. Link was standing in front of the coffin. The animation was depressing. Link was crying in front of the coffin.
Zelda whispered, "It's not your fault Link. It is Frank's fault. He abandoned you. He abandoned all of us."
Two things rushed in my mind at that moment:
1- What happened to Zelda?
2- HOW THE FUCK DID ZELDA KNOW MY NAME?!
This was too fucking creepy. The screened flash red and I saw Young Link at Lake Hylia. But Lake Hylia was drained and full of jaged rocks. Tatl and Tael were standing besides Link.
Tatl said, "Please, Link. Don't do it!"
Tael then said, "Go on. Do it. Our commander doesn't seem to care!"
The camera panned at Link's legs, stepping off the side.
Tatl said, "No, don't Link!" NO, DON'T LINK?! Okay, at this point, I was ready to cry in so much fear and confusion! The screen then showed Link fall into the rocks. Pixelated blood covered the screen. When the screen cleared, it showed Link's face, black eyes, blood coming from his mouth and ears.?
I unplugged my Wii, and took it back to Gamestop. I asked to see the manager. I asked him if he knew who brought this to him. The manager said that the last person who gave him the Wii came in sobbing. The original owner said that he got rid of her Wii for the PlayStation Vita.
She bought it and returned it hours later, saying that she experienced a very disturbing game-play of Ocarina Of Time. The manager said the only info of this she had was a dead Link, and the death of Zelda. She also said there were three files that were mentioned in the game, NO, DON'T, and LINK.
