Lost Stars - Polaris

A young man was lost in the wilderness. The trees, entangled with vines, reached the blood red sky. The clouds were a thick, black mass that hung over the rocky ground. There was no sun, no moon, and no wind. The air was still, leaving a lasting feeling of suspicion and fear.

"There's nothing left to live for!" cried the man.

He wept, cried, and screamed, his sounds could make Satan sympathetic. He then took time to sing his mother's last lullaby...

"Come to my comfy bed,

Rest your little sleepy head,

I know not if I can wake tomorrow,

Dreams will enlighten me,

Show me the vast sea,

Of tears when we meet again..."

The sweet sound of this man's voice reached the corrupted sky. That was when a light descended from the sky, slowly becoming bigger and bigger, probably five feet high and across. From it, a girl about seventeen appeared, as the light faded away.

The whites of her eyes were purple, while her irises were white. She wore a beautiful white dress, and a red pendant. Her hair and skin were white, and her lips were a light pink.

She smiled, and approached the man, her bare feet as quiet as an Indian's. She lifted his chin up, forcing him to look at her.

"I am Polaris, and I shall guide you to your freedom of this place," she said.

The man sniffled and nodded.

Polaris took his hand, and led him down a coal path. On both sides of the path was a sea of blood. Polaris, sensing his fear, looked over her shoulder and smiled.

"Do not fear, for soon you shall be free!" she chimed.

The man merely nodded, and continued to obediently follow the woman.

Their path soon split to a fork. There was a sign between the paths that read:

"Left for Heaven, Right for Hell"

"Oh, silly devils, they messed with the sign again," Polaris huffed.

"We need to go right to get to Heaven."

And so, she lead the man down the path on the right, and soon they came to a crater. The crater had a hole in the bottom, where lava rose from. The screams of many people were heard in the lava pool.

"P-Polaris, th-this is!!!" the man stuttered.

"Freedom!!!" she screeched, before pushing the man into the pool of lava.

The man screamed, his flesh burning, his life ending as he tried to struggle up the crater walls. But, the crater's walls were too slick, with nothing to grab onto. The man burned to ashes in the lava.

Polaris smiled an insane smile, then laughed like a maniac.

"Never follow a supernova! The star is dead, and so is the will to keep any alive! Fall to death! Be free! Free from a good Heaven, and burn in my Hell! I am Polaris, your undertaker!!!"
