I was looking on eBay back in 2009, for a cheap copy of the new game "New Super Mario Bros. Wii". I just kept scrolling down looking for cheap prices, and ones that I could buy right then and not have to bid for it.
I found one copy of the game for $1.99. The title had very bad grammar. It said it like this: "new coppy of mario" and it had zero bids, so I could buy it now at that second. I thought for a second, and then, I bought it with no regrets, but that was just then.
The game arrived through UPS in about 3 weeks, I was really excited about playing it. It had just been released. I said "Thank you." to the delivery man and then I walked inside my house. I opened the box, so excited that it would be a wonderful game. I opened the box, and I cleared out the packing peanuts and I found the game, the box was a CD case with a disc that wrote in a black sharpie, "Mario", out of suspicion I put it in my Wii, and I clicked on the square with the disc that was inserted, and it said Mario in new times roman, I thought, why new times roman on the Wii? I clicked on the start button, and instead of the usual "Wahoo!" that is heard, was just a sigh. The file screen was skipped, and it showed Mario sitting at a grave. The grave read "Peach". Mario was crying, very softly.
Everything was black, the Mario theme was playing at a very slow pace, as Mario walked along a dirt road. The level screen showed up and said "0-0" at that moment I was very confused, isn't the first level in Mario's games always 1-1? I pressed A and then the level started, I used the controller on my Wii remote to make him walk, but he was just walking sadly along with his head down. I saw a dead goomba with blood dripping out of its head, but then I thought, "Blood was not ever in Mario games." I just now got it, and I thought it was a normal Mario game, I thought maybe it was hacked? Well I kept letting him move with his head down.
The background was all gloomy, trees had no leaves, storms were erupting in the sky, and the castle was all broken down. Then the flag was there, Mario just walked past it, and the TV screen went black. Some text came up, it was all messed up, hard to read, but all I could make out of it was "And the world turned to ashes." and then another thing came up and said "MARIO IS MAD!". When the text came up the speakers on my Wii remote yelled the same thing at me, and it seemed to echo.
I was now at world 0-1, the text said "The final day of life is now." It was a water level, but the water was blood. Mario kept opening his mouth to get more blood. Then a cutscene happened. Mario's eyes went red, and he yelled "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!" and he drowned. Text came on the screen, "And the Mushroom Kingdom was forgotten." The screen went black for a minute. Then a flash of Mario's face came up and yelled "NO!!!!!!!!" in a demonic screech. At that moment, my TV and cable box shut-off.
I went to sleep that night and I kept seeing Mario screaming while drowning in the pool of blood. I saw him eating Bowser's organs. it was just a slideshow in my mind of it happening. Different gory pictures of Mario feasting away on Bowsers, which I like not to describe of.
I woke up that morning, got on eBay, and looked for the user, but he wasn't there, I kept looking forever and he wasn't there. I tried to play the disc again on my Wii, but the second time I played, it was perfectly normal.
