Growing up, I've always been a huge fan of Disney. My mom and Dad are total Disney nerds, so they always made me watch movies with them, and for the most part, I really enjoyed them. Some of my favorites at the time were Mulan and the Emperor's New Groove. When I was 11, and summer break had just started, my parents surprised me with some tickets to Disneyland, so you can imagine how excited I was.

We had arrived in a few days, and when we finally went inside, I almost felt like exploding with excitement. First thing we did was get some food, and after we had all eaten, we went on some rides. We went on stuff like the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, The Pirate of the Caribbean, and all sorts of others. I can't remember exactly what ride we had gone on, but all I remember is that after we got off of the ride, I was super dizzy. My parents had me sit down on a bench and made me drink water to try and make me feel better, but it wasn't really helping. For some reason I decided to stand up and try walking again, to try and force myself to stop being dizzy. But while doing so, I ended up tripping over my own feet, and as a result, I fell, and hit my head on a concrete curbside.

I obviously blacked out, and after a while, I had finally woken up, but instead of waking up in a hospital bed or something, I was still lying on the curb, right where I had hit my head. When I got up, my head was stinging, it felt like knives were crammed into my skull. As I started looking around, I could see that I WAS still in Disneyland, however, there wasn't a person in sight, and the place looked like it had been abandoned for years. I was confused, so I started walking around to get a good idea of my surroundings, and maybe find a way out. This place was weird, It LOOKED like Disneyland, but it didn't feel like it. Something was off, I felt like I was being watched, I was scared as all hell. After walking around for a bit, it had started raining, but I kept walking since I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. Then after taking a few more steps, I stopped, something was in front of me, and it was huge. I wanted to start walking the other way, but when I did, It spoke to me.

"Hi there little boy, gee, you sure look lost, are you lost?" The voice said to me. I recognized that voice all too well, It was Mickey Mouse, but he sounded strange. His voice and the way he talked sounded normal enough, but there was a slight bit of distortion in his voice, which made me more uncomfortable than I already was. I turned around and responded, "Oh, uhm... No, I was just uhh... trying to decide what ride I want to go on next." "Oh, you wanna go on a ride do ya? Well boy oh boy do I have the ride for you! Come on, follow me and I can take you to it." The mouse responded. I didn't know what to do, I was just frozen in shock. Mickey noticed I wasn't following him and turned around, then he said, "Oh gosh, where are my manners? My name is Michael, Michael Rodent, nice to meet you kiddo, what's your name?" I didn't know how to respond, or if I should respond at all. What was I supposed to think in this situation? I was only 11, I didn't know what the hell was going on, so out of fear, I turned around, and ran.

"Oh, you wanna race do ya? Well pal, I won't go easy on ya, Hu-Ha!" Is what I could vaguely hear Michael say as I ran from him. I was crying as I ran, I just wanted to get back to my mom and dad, I wanted to get back home. Whilst I was running, I tripped again, I landed on my arm, and since it was concrete I had landed on, my arm got all bruised and scratched up. Micheal ran up from behind me, and I really thought he was about to kill me, but instead, he ran up next to me, knelt down, and started helping me. He started saying stuff like, "Oh my gosh, are you ok? I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have scared you like that!" I was confused, why was he so concerned for me? I didn't understand. Michael had helped me up, and said, "Guess you won the race, huh? Hu-Ha!" Since I couldn't see very well in the rain, I never got a good look at Michael, and now that he was up close, I was a little disturbed.

He had ragged clothes that looked like they had gone through a tornado. He had scratches and burn marks all over his body. Part of his left ear was missing, like it was bitten off. His gloves were stained red, there was barely any white on them at all. There was also mold on some parts of him, like he'd been living in a sewer or something. I figured this guy was just someone in a Mickey Suit, but what kind of person would wear a suit like this? Did they just never take it off? Did they wear it to protect themselves from the rain? I don't know, but whatever the reason, it freaked me out a bit.

I looked up at Michael, and I asked him, "Why? Why am I here? What do you want from me?" Michael went silent for a minute, and responded by saying, "I have no clue kiddo, I don't know why people keep ending up here, but this is NO place for people, especially children like yourself!" All I could think after he said that was, "What the hell? More people have been here? And what did he mean this is no place for people? Where are the other people?" I started hyperventilating, I was scared out of my mind, so what did I do? I ran, I ran like an idiot.

Michael yelled at me, "WAIT! DON'T GO OFF BY YOURSELF! COME BACK!" But I didn't listen, I just wanted to be alone, I just wanted to get back. I was running for a little while, so I got tired, eventually I stopped for a second to catch my breath, and while I was doing that, I heard another voice, and it said, "A-hyuck, hey there little man, you don't look so good." The rain had started calming down, so I was actually able to look around and see where the voice came from. I looked a little bit in front of me, and I saw a Goofy mascot, "Oh no, another mascot thing." I thought. The Goofy mascot said, "The names Dopey, I think I might have somethin to turn your frown upsidowney!" Dopey reached into his pocket, and pulled out a knife, which looked like it had been used before. "Death is a great feeling kid! Trust me, you'll thank me for doing this later!" Dopey said as he started running towards me. I started running away, and just before Dopey could get a stab in, Michael had jumped on top of Dopey, wrestling with him until the knife fell out of his hands. Michael ran to grab the knife, and Dopey was laying on the ground, groaning in pain. Michael grabbed the knife, and started walking back towards Dopey. Dopey said to Michael, "Hey, come on Mike, don't do this, were pals remember?" Michael just looked Dopey in the eyes and said, "Burn in hell mutt."

Michael then proceeded to stab Dopey multiple times in the chest, I saw this as an opportunity to ditch the rat, and throw him off my track. So that's what I did, I ran again, and hid in a building. I was looking for a good place to hide, when I heard footsteps coming from outside the building, so I just ran further into the building. I eventually found this spot not too far from an exit, so if something had spotted me, I could run out super fast. I heard the front door open, and something walked inside. The footsteps kept getting closer, so I started sneaking over to the exit, and that's when I saw a huge pile of dead bodies. There were men, women, kids, elders, even babies. I had never been so horrified in my life, nothing I've seen so far today could match this. I heard a voice behind me say, "I was hoping you wouldn't find those." take a wild guess who it was. Michael was standing right behind me, knife in hand, and he said, "See what I mean when I said this isn't a place for people? I don't know how, I don't know why, but humans are arriving here from some alternate universe, and the other mascots aren't too fond of humans, so... they do that to them. And it disgusts me, I can't stand how they are able to take something's life and feel no remorse, so when I saw Dopey about to hurt you, and I ended up stabbing him, it felt therapeutic in a way. Bringing him the same pain he brought to others, felt great!"

I could not believe a single word that was spoken to me. Alternate Universe? Mascots? The same pain? What the hell was going on, and why was I part of it? I got up, and turned to Michael, saying, "Michael, please, I just want to go home." Michael responded with a disappointed tone, saying, "Im sorry kiddo, I don't know how you got here, or if there even is a way out of here! Me and the other mascots have been here for years!" I told Michael how I got here once I hit my head on the curbside, and blacked out. So Michael got the idea, that maybe if we hit me on the head hard enough again, I would go back to my Universe, and back to my family. At that point, I was willing to try anything. So we began looking around the building to hit me on the head with, and eventually, I found a rock that looked big enough to knock someone out. I gave it to Michael, and told him, "Thanks for keeping me safe by the way, and I'm sorry for not trusting you at first, I thought you were gonna kill me or something." Micheal responded with, "Ah don't worry about it kiddo, your not the first one not to trust me, a couple of them are in that pile you found earlier." I felt a chill go down my spine. Michael said to me "Good luck kid, hope you find your way back home." And then he hit me on the head as hard as he could.

I had blacked out so fast I had barely felt the rock hitting my head. I don't know how long I was out for, but eventually, I woke up, this time, in a hospital bed. My parents were sitting next to me, and were so happy to see me again, so was I. The doctor told me that I had been in a coma for a couple of weeks, and that I had serious head trauma. That's not the only trauma I had though, I don't think I'll ever be able to forget that creepy alternate universe that I was somehow in. I kept wondering how other people ended up there though, and why so many people had ended up there in the first place. Was it some kind of purgatory? Another version of hell? I don't know, and I don't think I want to know. I am just grateful for Michael, if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be alive right now, and back with my family.
