It was midnight, and I really needed to pee. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but last week my dad decided to put an oversized mirror right outside my bedroom, which happens to be directly across from the bathroom that I use every night. My dad knows I have a crippling phobia of mirrors (particularly at night) and bladder issues (particularly at night), but did that stop him from putting up a giant mirror right outside my bedroom? ''Noooo.'' Anyway, I really needed to pee.

I was hesitant. I didn't want to go anywhere near that creepy mirror, but I ''really'' needed to pee. I ~~finally~~ succumbed to my bladder. I got out of bed and tip-toed across the room. I reached for the door handle and slowly, ever so slowly, turned the doorknob until the latch had fully retracted. I made sure that it retracted silently--not making a "click" sound in the process. As I opened the door, the hinges made a loud creaking noise.

I was hesitant. I didn't want to go anywhere near that creepy mirror, but I ''really'' needed to pee. Finally, I succumbed to the will of my bladder. I got out of bed and tip-toed across the room. I reached for the door handle and slowly, ever so slowly, turned the doorknob until the latch had fully retracted. I made sure that it retracted silently--not making a "click" sound in the process. As I opened the door, the hinges made a loud creaking noise.

"GODDAMNIT," I shouted indignantly.
