Muriel's Bargain with the Devil

Muriel grew up in a poor family. Her father was abusive and was always striking her mom while she watched, wishing it would all go away. The only thing her mom could afford was Macaroni. Eventually, she grew tired of it, which explains why Muriel said, "I hate Macaroni" in the episode where she was transformed into a child again. Growing up with abuse in her family, she sought after someone that reminded her of her father.

Then she met Eustace. She loved him, but he was abusive. Maybe that's what she loved about him. Eventually, she got tired of her life. She left her parents house and married Eustace, where she continued to get abused. One night, she couldn't take it anymore.

She made a bargain with the devil to give her "Courage". In exchange, her family was to be cursed. The next day, Muriel was walking through town, looking for something to cook for dinner when she spotted a pink dog. She saw how scared, yet courageous it was...
