Pokemon Yellow-Blood Storm
It was 2007, I was 8 at the time. Gameboys were starting to diminish in popularity because of the DS. I had a Gameboy Advanced and only one game for it.
Pokemon Yellow.
I was a huge pokemon fanatic! Messing around with my party and my pokemon. My Party was just a usual trainer's party. Charizard, Fearow, Pidgeotto, Mankey, Persian, and Beedrill... Pokemon Yellow had no color. My parents were bugging me saying stuff like, "When will you get over that game?" or "That game is out of date!" Well, Pokemon Yellow has been my favorite game ever since I got it in 2005. Until the glitch...
I got a Gameshark from my grandma on my 8th birthday. I thought it would be halarious to get cheats for Charizard to learn stuff like Bubblegum Ray or stuff like that. Well, I was online one day looking for cheats when I saw a cheat named "SS. Anne: Storm" or something like that. I already got a cheat for Nat: Pokedez so I thought, Yeah, Imma just do a random cheat... I worte down the random numbers and letters that were listed on the screen.
I put in the Gameshark with Yellow. Then, I typed in the cheat code. The code was valid. I booted up the game with the code and played.
The game booted up normally and started normally, but when I started, my sprite was on the SS Anne. My sprite's name was "Austin" like mine. I walked down the SS Anne, going into rooms. It seemed normal until I reached where the captain was.
He was dead... Laying in a puddle of blood. My sprite automatically walked around to the window, then, a man came in the room. The man looked at the captain, then said, "What happened to the captain?" After he said that, the ship shook like an earthquake. Next thing I know, the screen goes dark and omits a cry that sounds like a Mew.
The ship was turned over when the game resumed and the man was lying on the floor. Words popped up. "They are near!" Next thing you knew, the man was apparentley dead. I walked around the tipped ship and every so often, I ran into a pokemon. Except, It wasn't a pokemon...
It looked like a Bloody Spearow, Pikachu mix... It's name was ??? Every time I ran into it, before battle it would say something like, "Thirsty... thirsty... for... Then, it would flee.
After wandering the ship for about five more minutes, the screen goes black. I wait about 30 seconds longer then the Bloody Spearow Pikachu thing pops up again. I'm thinking, What the heck is going on now??? I was already scared to death. So I didn't think this could get any more scarier.
But it did.
The Bloody SpearPika was picking my sprite up and carrying it. The screen went black again, then the Mew cry came out again. The SpearPika dropped me in Lavender Town. It was raining. I walked around the town and talked to everybody. I pressed A next to an old lady. She looked away form me and said, "Peculiar Weather, eh?" My sprite stood there, then black screen again. But this time I heard screaming. Then I saw words. "Help!!!! These!!! Ahhhh!!!!" The screen turned back to normal. But my sprite was the only one in Lavender Town. I walked down toward the nearest city. Celadon City... When I arrived, a little boy ran up to my character and said, "It's raining blood! Blood! The... the... Flying things!" All of a sudden, the SpearPikas flew down and attacked the boy, only leaving a puddle of blood.
My mind kept saying, "Don't keep going. Don't keep going." But my fingers were faster than my brain. I kept going Westbound Celadon. When I arrived at the city limits, my sprite stopped. Words at the bottom said, "You... come... too... close! Thirsty... For... Bloooooddd... The SpearPikas appeared out of nowhere and a battle came on. They were both level 000 The SpearPikas had only one move. Apparently it was a hack move called "KO" All my Pokemon were down in no time...
Except my Level 12 Mankey...
I sent it out. Mankey's cry was like the others. A screching noise. The SpearPikas were apparently out of the "KO" move... They were forced to use Struggle, which it only took away one health point. My Mankey KO'd the SpearPikas in one hit. After the battle, they flew away. I thought it was over.
But it wasn't...
About twenty SpearPikas popped up and took my trainer bag. The screen went dark. Words popped up.
"Austin rushed to the nearest Pokemon Center to protect his Pokemon from further harm"
Then more words popped up.
"The ???'s took your Pokemon"
"Austin died"
What?!?!?! I thought. When the screen turned back to normal. But a giant picture of a SpearPika popped up with an evil smile and red eyes.
I threw my GameBoy at the wall and right before it hit the wall and broke, I heard the words, "Blood!" Then the game shut off. I threw my Yellow Game away and begged my mom to buy a DS. She said maybe. The incident kind of emotionally scarred me. I never played a Gameboy Pokemon Game again. (Except Sapphire)
