Prank Me

It was a silent and solemn night on the 5th of April. Olivia walked around the graveyard and over to her house. She hated living near the graveyard. It always gave her the creeps.

She twisted the key and opened the door to her small house. It had been a long day at work and it was already 11pm.

She flicked the light switch and dropped her bag on the floor. It was still dark. She flicked multiple times and nothing happened. The dark started gaining on her. There were long shadows that creeped out with twisted and grotesque looks and the only noise was of the ticking of her grandfather clock which had been passed down for generations. She shivered and started to walk in the darkness towards the lounge, feeling where she was going. Olivia stopped.

There was a noise upstairs, a rustling and a tapping. She quickly went over to the kitchen and picked out a sharp knife and crept up the stairs and realised that the sound was coming from behind her bedroom. She walked over slowly and positioned her knife and swung open the door. She charged into the room see a person like shadow.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" She shouted grasping her knife tighter, she slowly walked over to a torch on the floor, her eyesight not leaving the figure, and turned it on towards them.

"Oh my gosh, you should of heard yourself you were so scared," laughed a sweet girls voice. As Olivia's eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness and realised it was just, Casey, her best friend.

"Casey, I gave you a spare key for emergencies!" she said in a strict and annoyed tone."And why did you turn off my power?"

"No I didn't, it turned off by itself around ten, I swear I didn't do anything," she promised.

"You were here for more than an hour!!" she yelled.

"No, It's only been several minutes," she said, looking at Olivia. "I can swear that I have not been standing here for an hour. I would have left already."

There was a chime on her grandfather clock, it was impossible that it was already midnight. Suddenly the wind grew louder and her radio started turning on and off to random channels but was just static. Her torch switched on and off rapidly and the floor boards creeked.

Olivia looked around and backed up into a corner with Casey. Suddenly there was a distinct voice in the static of the radio.

"Get out of my house!" the voice shouted.

It went silent, nothing but the ticking of the Grandfather clock again. Casey stood up and looked at Olivia. "Or I will get you!"

"Wow, that is just the meanest prank you've ever done," she said as she started to storm out of the room.

"Wait, it wasn't even m-"

Casey turned around. "Olivia, you want me to get out of your house then fine." Olivia got up and chased after her down the stairs.

"Casey! I didn't do that," she explained.

Casey looked at the clock. "It's already one so I gotta get going, unless you want to tell me about ghosts," she said sarcastically. "I'm leaving."

Suddenly, the old grandfather clock opened up and hands reached out and tightly grabbed her. Casey screamed and wrestled, but she was dragged helplessly into the clock. Olivia stood in shock and fear, unable to utter a word or a sound. Eyes glinted in the moon light.

The hands of the clock moved furiously around in circles.

"We'll be waiting."
