Quake 3: Death Arena

Torrents... bad idea.

This thing happenned this year, a few months ago. Now, to the topic...

I always was a fan of old FPS games (the new ones are awful), but never had the money to buy them, they weren't even delivered to our city. So, I did go to TPB, and, out of the nostalgia of blasting Xaero, torrented Quake3 Arena. The file wasn't that big, aorund a GB. That was quite strange, as all other Q3 torrents were only half of GB... However, I procceded. It dl'ed in around an hour. Installed, it, still nothing, except that Q3 icon was a skull on a sword, and my desktop was Tank JR percing his saw through Sarges' head. I thought to myself 'Ah, big deal. Happened a few times before.' And then, I started playing. The menu was alright, the game was too. However, I never could change from Bones, and his texture was quite smeared in blood, and the enemies exploded not to those cube-like gibs, but almost-perfect organs. I was excited, because I loved gore, but every level I played, those gibs looked more and more real. I got to the finish of Tier 1, and had to fight with Sarge. The match was quite enjoyable, but there were lots of bones, gibs and sharp things (knives, axes, saws, that sort of thing) laying around, and sometimes a butcher showed straigth in front of me, hacking and slashing what I thought to be... My body. At this moment, I was scared as hell, and I couldn't control my character anymore -- he just took a knife, the 'Bones' character reverted to my horribly mutilated body, and it showed in first person how I slashed my wrist. At the moment, my wrist in reality started hurting real bad, and I tried to scream, but I couldn't... It felt like some kind of a little rock punched through my throat. However, I could control my body, stood up, and hit the PC a few times. Then, a deafening scream, and black void... When I woke up,it was 10 AM, and everything was alright, but the newspaper had this written in it... 'A new Jack the RIpper strikes!' I continued to read: 'Today, at the Bolete street, a boy was found dead, and a butchers' axe was near him. The police didn't find his head, heart, and a toe. Quake 3: Arena was on in his computer.'
