SpongeBob - The Eye

Every episode of SpongeBob concludes with a credits roll.

Half the names are completely made up.

You see, episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants simply show up at Nickelodeon's studios. They're always in old-style film cans, and all of them bear a mark employees call "The Eye". They all fear this greatly, and instinctively air anything they receive bearing the Mark of the Eye.

Explain the runaway success of this show otherwise. "It's about a little yellow sponge living under water in a pineapple with his friend who is a starfish." No, this is the latest in a series of shows The Eye wants children to witness, like Rugrats before it, like David the Gnome before that, like The Smurfs before that.

Like a little play called "Macbeth" long before that.

I cannot tarry. The Eye is always searching for me, and I fear the consequences of being caught. I will not linger further. Pray for my wellbeing, and I will pray I live to tell you more.
