In September 20th, 2008 an anonymous user on 4chan's /x/ board posted a picture that simply of SpongeBob with no mouth. The picture was said to blink if the viewer would stare at it long enough. It was a JPEG… and it wouldn’t blink when this user showed it to other people. Personally, I tried to make a post about how it’s a JPEG…. but then the page was taken down. Why? Also, below the JPEG was a story. A very short story. It said about on December 3rd, 2004 a tape was found by some teengaers rummaging around a trashcan in an asylum.

I knew from the start this story was fake, but when I looked further into detail, the user that original posted this story had disappeared from the website. What I mean is that all of his comments were… gone. However, since I followed this guy I decided to check his other posts.

All of them were removed, and…. and…. his profile said: “HELP ME!” I was very freaked out. I then pushed on the other sites he was following. All of his posts on those sites were removed. Even on Creepypasta wiki, his posts were deleted, like “SpongeBob Bootleg Episode” and “Nightmare Broken (Spanish)” and “SpongeBob unaired episode.”

It looked like he tried to re-post his SpongeBob Bootleg story and they all got deleted. At this point, I was determined to find out the answer. I looked at his profile page but couldn’t find it. After spending an hour trying to find it I assumed it got deleted.

That was when…. I realized that my profile had been deleted. But why? That was when, as I was looking up SpongeBob Bootleg Episode, my computer powered down, and I had nightmares for the rest of the night. Now, do not read SpongeBob Bootleg Episode.

I’m warning you.

This image was taken from a split second frame in a corrupted bootleg of the SpongeBob episode 'Dumped.' Other than the image, the rest of the video is composed of incomprehensible jumbles of colors, static, or just black screens. The bootleg tape itself was found in December 2004 by a group of 5 teenagers from the city rummaging around in a trash can within an abandoned mental institution. Of these 5 individuals, 2 have committed suicide, 1 has gone missing, 1 refuses to comment on the tape, and the last hastily agreed to give paranormal investigators the tape shortly after being interviewed about the suicide and disappearances of the other 3 persons. The current whereabouts of the tape are unknown, and many who stare at this image for a long enough period of time claim to see SpongeBob blink...
