THE HAPPY MAGENTA
The Annoying Orange. A perfect example of 2010 internet era. Fred videos, intense hatred directed towards Justin Beiber, that hellish "Friday" song, and so so much more. God, the mere mention of all that stuff takes me back.
Dane Boe basically abandoned his channel for that series. Something you usually hear people say when they bring up the Annoying Orange is how the series got beaten into the ground as it went on. The only people who watch it now are iPad kids who watch it in the form of YT Shorts. They still make full form videos, and those still get hefty views.
Something happened on the YouTube channel during when the Cartoon Network show was going on that not many people actually remember. It was weirdly offputting and strange. Nothing else has ever happened that was like it. I am definitively sure this happened. Like, 100% sure. I have such clear memory of this video that I cannot be convinced it was a weird dream I had.
In 2013, a video was posted to the main Annoying Orange YouTube channel titled "THE HAPPY MAGENTA". The video started off with magenta text in all caps on a black background, reading "THE HAPPY MAGENTA". The video fades into an image of a magenta colored Orange with eyes poorly photoshopped onto it. The background is slightly magenta tinted. The only sound is that of a ceiling fan in the distance. It cuts to Pear, across the other side of the counter.
"Uhhh...who are you?"
It cuts back to The Happy Magenta. Text appears under The Happy Magenta. "EVERYTHING IS SO FUNNY"
It cuts back to Pear, who is very confused.
"Hel-Hello? Whats your name?"
4 seconds of awkward silence.
"I AM THE HAPPY MAGENTA!!!"
"...right."
"ARE YOU HAPPY TODAY?"
"uhhh, Fine, I guess."
Pear asks a question. "You know, I dont really know what you're...y'know....supposed to be? Like, what are you?"
"A MAGENTA!"
Pear pauses for a bit. "Alright I guess."
It cuts back to The Happy Magenta. "HOW IS YOUR DAY GO?ING??" Yes, I specifically remember a spelling error being there. It might be different than what I typed, but i'm almost certain it's that.
"I'm waiting for Orange to show up. Probably wont be that good when he does."
"ORANGE IS NO LONGER HERE."
More awkward silence as it pans from character to character.
"Yeah, ri-"
"HE GOT IN THE WAY OF HAPPY."
"....Ok, well my na-"
"NICE TO MEET YOU PEAR."
A bit more awkward silence.
"I didnt even finish my sentance. How- HOW DID YOU CORRECTLY GUESS MY NAME?!?!"
"UNIMPORTANT" The Happy Magenta responds, still talking in text.
"SCREW THIS, IM LEAVI-"
It cuts back to The Happy Magenta, who now has text over their head reading "NO". They immediately full force fly at Pear. The camera angle doesnt change, but the sounds of Pear yelling stay.
"WHAT ARE YOU-GET OFF OF ME-" Pear starts screaming in horror. The sounds of Pear being violently dismembered are heard. The audio slowly gets more distorted as you can see Pear juice slowly come into frame. It abrubtly cuts to black, before cutting back to The Happy Magenta, now standing in place with Pears blood nowhere to be seen, despite it having been there beforehand. The video ends after 10 seconds of this frame with the ceiling fan noise still in the background.
I SWEAR this episode exists somewhere, or atleast existed. It was deleted the day after. Nobody archived it, and I dont see anybody talking about it. I only have that memory. That's why I'm making this post, to see if it can spark up some kind of lost media search.
UPDATE: Somebody responded to this post as a discord message. The username was just "ME" and they only had a default pfp.
The message read "You weren't supposed to see that." When I asked what they meant, they blocked me. I have many antiviruses on my computer. Ever since that discord DM, It's been notifying me of downloads that it wants to confirm was me. None of them have been from me.
I've been getting notifications about purchases.
None of them have been from me.
