The 90s ROCKED!

It's a distant time in the future. These days whenever people hear "the 90s", their brain shuts off and become full fledged NPCs, making them never shut up about how God himself came down on January 1st, 1990, and left December 31, 1999. Everyone born January 1st, 2000 and after are rounded up and shot. They burn down laboratories, no scientific progress must be made after the 1990s. They invade all world governments and set the clocks to 00:00, January 1st, 1990. Suddenly, the victims of murder, assault, and robbery, along with every single homeless person on earth all smile and are happy, because it's the 1990s again. A while later, another school shooting happens and they watch it on their SD TVs (which are being produced again) and cheer it on because "wow, this is just like Columbine! The 90s ROCKED!"

Another 9/11 happens, and people are shocked, not because it's a tragedy, but because it reminds them of 2001. The collective consciousness and morality is now solely based on if said thing happened in the 90s or not.

Long live the 1990s.
