My name, it's Trey. You see, my friend died a couple days ago, he killed himself. Before that he had stopped by my house and gave me a present. I recently opened it today and found out it's a bell. I put it on my desk and got ready for bed.
It's nighttime now. I can hear something. . . the bell is ringing. I look over to where I had put the bell, and see a man, an old man, sitting cross-legged on the floor ringing the bell. Naturally I was freaked out, wondering how this strange man got in my room and why he is ringing the bell. If he was a robber he would've taken something, but no. He just sits there, staring off into space and ringing the bell. I don't know how I managed, but eventually sleep found me.
I awoke the next morning to find him gone, bell on the desk where I left it. This continued for a few nights, until I had enough. I decided to confront the man, so I lay in bed, pretending to be asleep. I hear the door open, and in walks the man. He sits on the floor, grabs the bell, and starts ringing it. I grab my lamp, the closest thing to me, and swing it at him. Before the lamp hits him, he just disappears. I sit there, in silence, confused about what happened.
The next night, he didn't come. But, I had a strange urge to ring the bell. It was as if it called to me. So, I grabbed it and sat down. I began ringing it, over and over again. It was.. actually amusing. I continued, until I had stayed up all night ringing. This continued, I don't like this... there's something off about it. I can't stop..
I quickly pack the bell in a box, and mail it to my best friend. Now... finally I'm free. All that's left... is to pull this trigger.
