The Dark Truth of The Simpsons

Have you always wondered why the Simpsons were not able to be watched on cable (unlike other Fox cartoons, at least on the US) until 2014, they were never available on Netflix, and so on?

Well, many people speculates that James L. Brooks forced Fox to be very restrictive with the Simpsons, restricting it to air on first-party networks only. However, that isn't the truth.

In 1986, Matt Groening found a portal to a fictional dimension which was actually a fictional version of our world and since in that dimension Life in Hell was very popular, Groening agreed to create a new show in that dimension, and hired the studio Gracie Films and the production company Klasky-Csupo to travel to that dimension and make the new show.

In 1987, they released the first short, Good Night on the Tracey Ullman show, and so on, until 1989, they still made a lot of shorts.

In late 1988, Brooks thought that it was a good idea to adapt the shorts into a TV series, so they hired Groening again and Klasky-Csupo to start making the new show, with the same name as the shorts. The first episode produced was Some Enchanted Evening, but it had several failures so it had to be redone.

On 1989, they completed a full season and Fox ordered more seasons of the show. The show premiered in December 17, 1989.

As of 1991, they had completed 3 seasons, and Fox, noticing that Klasky-Csupo was creating a kids show called "Rugrats", decided to move animation to Film Roman, which in seasons 4-7, they tried to imitate Klasky-Csupo's style, but starting season 8, they made their own style.

Well, here goes why it isn't actually a real show. As I said up there, many people say that Brooks ordered Fox to be very restrictive with the Simpsons, but that isn't the truth. The show is actually a fictional show inside other shows, and you may ask, how it does its shown to us? Well, any character of these shows gets a camera and connects it to our TV and then, an episode of the show plays.

So the conclusion is, that the Simpsons aren't a real show. They're a fictional cartoon inside others. Matt Groening's first show was actually Futurama, and the longest running cartoon is actually South Park.
