The Edge

Forget about love, hope and happiness. Forget about emotion at all. It might help you a bit throughout this story. Have you ever heard of the Edge?

...Yes you have. Everyone has—millions have experienced it, but only few on earth know what it's like. It's a terrible thing; you don't understand what's going on, and you experience emotion beyond possible, and you begin to feel sick. It's always a dream, though... always. When you awaken, you stand before two doors. You do not remember seeing these doors when you fell asleep. You walk forward towards the brighter-looking door, but you might get shoved into the opposite door.

Nobody knows what is beyond either door. On Earth, that is. Scientists have researched and researched to find out exactly what this is and how it works. It never really succeeded. No one you ask knows what it is.

Have you heard of the Edge?

...No, I'm sure you haven't. This metaphoric expression has only been used by me.

The Edge is also called death. Whatever you want to call it is fine.
