December 9, 1998~ [Begin Transmission] "Uhh.. h-hello. I'm, Ulysses Harbor. I teach psychology at the University of Utah. I'm not much for words, but I'll try to explain these... happenings... the best I can. Here I go."

"As of late, I haven't been... no, scratch that. As of late, my mind hasn't felt... right. I feel strange, all the time. I've come down with the chills, and goosepimples raise in my arms whenever I leave a room. I can't sleep. When I do get sleep, it comes in fits, and I have the most terrible dreams. They're just smatterings of blood, and laughter. Oh, the wretched laughter. It laughs at me, even in my waking hours, and follows me like fleas. The laughter is forces, almost as though some mad man has to laugh. I'm feeling rather pekish, I must go now." [End transmission]

December 13, 1998~ [Begin Transmission] "It's been three days and twenty-one hours since my last recording. In that amount of time, I've nearly died -- by my own hand -- twice. I just can't take it any more. When I blink, behind my eyelids lay terror. The shrieking, horrid faces of laughing beings. They don't look human... they look... lifeless, as though a dead man is smiling at me. The laughter has gotten worse, as well. It now drowns out almost all coherent thoughts. I fear these may be my last days, friends." [End Transmission]

December 14, 1998~ [Begin Transmission] --A moment of silence passes, before quiet sobs begin-- "Good Lord.. I have to end this now." --More silence passes, followed by rustling around in a far-off place, as though the professor is looking for something-- "Goodbye, laughter." --One more sob is heard, followed by a sharp jamming sound, and a large thud to the floor-—After a moment more of silence, the tape recorder automatically stopped recording. [End Transmission]

The preceeding tapes were found in the small, rural home of Professor Ulysses Hudson by an inquisitive co-worker at the University three weeks after the final recording. Along with the tape recorder, a rather bloodied-up Professor Hudson was found in his bathtub, a screwdriver shoved in his right ear. The distraught co-worker said, (in regards to the young man's death) "He seemed like a happy guy... I just didn't expect him to do anything like that. He was so... normal.. but then again, so was the professor last year... he was always laughing..."
